aces-n-eights
I have a 2017 MKZ and got a warning the other day that a tire was low. There was a display that popped up and told me the pressure for each tire and that display went away when i aired the tire up. My question is that i'd like to be able to see the display of all the tire pressures. I've scrolled thru the menus and looked in the owners manual, but i just can't figure out how to access that display. I feel like i'm just missing something simple... Can you guys help me out and tell me how to bring up the TPMS display? Thanks!
bbf2530
Hi a&e. In my 2018, you can access the 4 tire display by using the left steering wheel buttons. Choose "Driver Assist" then scroll up/down to find "Tire Pressure" and press "OK". That seems to be the same procedure/explanation in the 2017 Owners Manual. In the PDF version of the 2017 MKZ Owners Manual, the Driver Information Center displays are explained on pages 109-115. Perhaps another 2017 owner will jump in to help with personal experience.. If you can not access the display by following the Owners Manual and/or the above instructions, then it can not be done or you have a problem with your system. Good luck. fusionff
You can also view your tire pressures on the Lincoln Way App. Open up the app, press Vehicle Details, and it's listed right after Vehicle Location.

I've never gotten an actual psi reading from here on my 2017. It just says monitoring but it will warn me with "Low" if any tire is low. When I click on "tire pressure" It shows that it only shows monitoring or low. Edited October 26, 2020 by esqueue
fusionff
That's different than my app. https://i.imgur.com/M8P1jPR.jpg[/img] I click on that, and it goes to this screen: https://i.imgur.com/673gN8U.jpg[/img] Edited October 26, 2020 by fusionff
Chris109
All I need to do on my '17 is push up or down on the left side of the steering wheel til you get to the pressure reading. There are 5 or 6 different displays that you scroll thru. Edited October 26, 2020 by Chris109

This could be vehicle year difference. I have the same display as @esqueue. Both of us have 2017. @fusionff has a 2018. Anyone else want to verify with their respective vehicle year? 2. App difference. There is only 1 Lincoln Way app, am I right? May I know what version do you have?

May I know what version do you have? Hi kramf. Here is what I can attest to: 1. My 2018 MKZ shows individual tire pressure readings on the LincolnWay app, the same as the images fusionff posted of his 2018. That leaves at least two possibilities: First...Unless another 2017 owner can state his Lincoln Way app shows the individual tire pressures, it would seem the individual tire pressure display began with the 2018 model year (or sometime during the 2018 model year, if it was a late "JOB" addition). Second...if another member has a 2017 MKZ that displays tire pressure on their LincolnWay app, there could be an issue with esqueque's vehicle or the LincolnWay app on his/her phone. Deleting and reinstalling the app may cure an app issue. A vehicle issue would necessitate a service visit. Or perhaps give the Lincoln Concierge a call and see what assistance they can offer. 2. Yes, there is only one LincolnWay app. However, it would not hurt for esqueue to check if there are any LincolnWay app updates available for his phone, if he hasn't already done so. Perhaps drolds1, or other 2017 owner will post and let us know if their 2017 MKZ displays individual tire pressures on the LincolnWay app. I will also add that sometimes/once in a while, my LincolnWay app will not display the tire pressures and look like esqueue's image. In most cases, I can simply force close the app and reopen it, then they will display properly. Hope this information helps and good luck. Scott
On the app my 2017 only shows Tire Pressure as "Monitoring". It would be nice to see the individual readings.

That leaves at least two possibilities: First, there could have been a 2017 mid-year/"JOB" change as to what information was available on the LincolnWay app. So if esqueue has an earlier production 2017, it may not have the same LincolnWay capability as the 2017 of drolds1 (if his was produced as a later JOB#). I sort of doubt this possibility. Second...there could be an issue with esqueue's Lincoln Way app or his vehicle. Deleting and reinstalling the app may cure an app issue. I may be wrong but I went back to check on @drolds1 statement and it seems to me that he is implying it works and on his 2017 and (2020) using the steering wheel buttons and not the LincolnWay app. Edited October 27, 2020 by kramf411 spelling

No, you are correct. I forgot the conversation shifted/drifted from the OP's (aces-n-eights) question about his/her dash display not displaying individual tire pressures, to esqueque's question about the LincolnWay App not showing the individual tire pressures on his car. And drolds1 was answering the OP about his dash display. I will go back and edit/remove the incorrect information in that post, so as not to confuse others in the future. My brain cloud...your good catch. ? Edited October 27, 2020 by bbf2530

Let me add that at some point, the Lincoln Way app stopped working for that car. After a consult with the Lincoln Concierge, it was determined that a service appointment/diagnosis was necessary to determine what the problem was. We couldn't get it to communicate with the modem. Since it was nearing the end of my lease, I just decided not to bother. The app will display individual TPs for my 2020 but I have to say that this has been, and remains, one wonky app. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, you never know what you're gonna get. JimF
I used to see the tire pressures on the Lincoln Way app, until the latest app update. Now I only see, as Scott has mentioned above, the tire pressure as "Monitoring" when the car is parked. If I am driving, I can see the approximate tire pressure on the instrument panel but not on the Lincoln Way app. The app appears geared toward displaying low pressure warning rather than actual pressure. I don't need to go into any menus. As long as I am in the "Display/Trip" section of the left side display (which I have on all of the time because it displays everything I want to know), there are 7 different displays. Scroll thru to get to tire pressure. Page 109-110 of the manual. However, I am thinking there may be different displays and menus depending on having a hybrid or not. I have the '17 hybrid. Thanks for the information about your hybrid. Yes, you did mention that in your previous post. However, we do not know what display aces-n-eights (the OP) had showing in his vehicle, so I told him how to find it no matter where he is in the settings. In our non-hybrids, it is in the "Driver Assist" section, as I mentioned in my post that you quoted above. So right there, it would seem our non-hybrids Driver Information Center Settings are different than your hybrid, in addition to the other hybrid specific differences. Also, just wanted to point out that aces-n-eights already solved his issue by following our advice. The thread conversation has now drifted into the LincolnWay app displaying individual tire pressures. Does your 2017 MKZ Hybrid display individual tire pressures in the LinconWay app? In the end, everyone giving their Owners Manual a quick perusal would always be helpful. Good luck. esqueue
Wow so it is the 2018+ models that shows tire pressures in the Lincoln Way app. I know that they have the onboard hotspot and also download updates on their own as TomV was annoyed with. bbf2530
Hi esqueue. Concerning individual tire pressures displaying on the LincolnWay app: Yes, it seems that way so far, since no 2017 owner has stepped forward yet to verify that their 2017 shows individual tire pressures on the LincolnWay app. As far as SYNC updates: Yes, the 2018's can download SYNC updates via WiFi, under somewhat ideal conditions. The vehicle must be parked within range of and connected to a quite strong WiFi signal. And since the vehicle can only download while running and connected to that WiFi signal, and/or for up to 30 minutes after being turned off, it takes some time to download full updates, since the SYNC update file sizes are quite large. Since most of us do not sit in our driveways/at work, etc. with the car running (if you can connect to a WiFi signal elsewhere while the car is parked), that means SYNC can only download for 30 minutes at a time each time you park and are connected to WiFi in the real world. Although I have heard some stories that SYNC 3.4 is a little better with WiFi updates of SYNC ( I have SYNC 3). And NAV map updates can not be performed via WiFi. USB download and installation only. Therefore, I have found it more efficient to simply perform my SYNC updates via the download to USB method. This will all hopefully change with the now imminent introduction of SYNC 4, although that will not help us SYNC 3/3.3/3.4 owners. Also, keep in mind again that SYNC updates are not like iOS and Microsoft Windows updates. They do not happen weekly, monthly etc. I have only had 2 SYNC updates in the ~2 1/2 years that I have owned my 2018 MKZ. Hope this information has helped. Good luck. esqueue
esqueue
@bbf2530Ah what you said above also applies for my 2017 car as for getting a good WiFi signal. I actually did my first update using a hotspot on my phone. That's when I realized that the car asks if you want to keep it running after idling for a long time. When I read a thread here, I incorrectly assumed that the 2018 downloaded without a wifi connection. Thanks for the correction.

Updates are via WiFi (or USB). And yes, the automatic idle safety shut-off is 30 minutes, although I have heard, but not personally verified, that can be turned off on a per-start basis. I placed a WiFi extender at the front of my house so that my MKZ can get an excellent WiFi signal while parked in my driveway. But as someone who is often on the computer and can check for SYNC updates regularly (again...only 2 in ~2 1/2 years ?), I still found it quicker to use the USB download method. Good luck. aces-n-eights
Thanks for the discussion, guys. I've learned a lot. I just activated the Lincoln Way app, but i don't like having to allow it access to all the files on my phone so, apparently, that method won't work for me.
