Apparently, it's an air intake for the IC. I'm guessing 3.0s have it and maybe 2.0s don't. Pic to follow. I took the picture in my garage and apparently it picked up a reflection of something. bbf2530 Posted June 16, 2020 Share Posted June 16, 2020 Hi gang. Although it is already verified by several of you, I will add that my 3.0T's drivers side lower front fascia is also open. I would only add a theory (unless someone definitely knows it is intercooler related), that perhaps the duct is actually for the air intake snorkel? I state that theory because my understanding until now would be that the intercooler takes air from the upper and lower grille opening, exactly like the engine radiator.
