Darrink1
Does anyone have a copy of Sync3 v2.2 or newer software/firmware for their MKZ that I can download? The lincoln site does not show v2.2 available for my 2016 mkz I currently have v2.0 Thanks Darrin

Darrink1
Thanks. Is this version for Lincoln (i.e. Lincoln background image on the Sync3 display)? The reason I ask, is because the folder name appears to be the same as the Ford. And why is the non-nav file larger than the nav version? Are your links backwards? Thanks again. caddydaddy25
Not sure why the non nav is larger, but I definitely used the nav version and it shows lincoln background when starting up

Darrink1
OK. Great I will try it. I was hoping that v2.22 would solve a few bugs in v2.0 like how the system crashes and reboots about once a month, the check for software updates is never successful, the speed-sensitive volume always resets back to OFF, and a bunch of other mistakes in their software. Thanks again for the download link.
Myron D. Brown
Don't do it...it creates more problems than it solves. If you listen to digital music files via one of the USB drives, the artwork for the albums will be screwed up. Also, your phone more frequently has trouble staying paired to the car. Don't do it!! I'd wait for Ford/Lincoln to release the next update... Edited July 18, 2017 by Myron D. Brown
Darrink1
Myron, Yes I saw your post about the cover art issue after I posted here. I do have a USB stick with MP3's, cover art, and playlists. I thought there was a setting somewhere in the SYNC3 that allows you to override the gracenotes cover art? Another software issue I have (related to the USB MP3) is using a voice command to play a "playlist". It doesn't recognize "playlist" the first time you say "Play Playlist Aerosmith". It always responds with a: "Play Aerosmith the Album, Artist, or Playlist", then you say "playlist" again. Very strange. I'm just surprised at how slow they are to bring out updates. Myron D. Brown
The override doesn't work. That's what I'm trying to warn you of. LOL As far as the "play playlist," I don't know if that's so much of a bug or just the limitations of voice recognition. I have some Albums/Artists/Playlists with the same exact name. So even if I specify one of those, I'm sometimes asked for clarity.
Darrink1
Ah. OK. I guess I will wait. Thanks.
garylthompson
Im new to all this, but.... I just bought a 2016 with Sync 2.0, will these files take me to 3.0? I notice everyone has a Z less that 2017. I was under the impression Sync 3 was a hardware swap not simply a software update...............please enlighten me and point me to more info............. thanks guys
drolds1
No. A hardware swap is necessary. See this thread.
Darrink1
Sync3 v2.3 is finally out, and it actually downloaded by itself. Now lets see if it fixes anything.
Myron D. Brown
Version 2.3 made a few things worse for me. SMH. I just upgraded to version 3.0 that I found on a Ford Mustang forum. It's perfect. Ford needs to do better and invest more in its software division.

Darrink1
I downloaded to a USB thumb drive, but I decided to see if the automatic check for update feature world work from the car itself, and it did. When it did the automatic Wi-Fi download, it was quick. It must download only software that needs an update. So I gather this was a very small update. It took a day for the Lincoln owner site to update itself and record the software update automatically. If your connected to Wi-Fi and have the car check for updates, it should update your online account in a day. Robert Iggy Cerami
MKZMark
I have auto-updates turned on and the car is connected to WiFi, but it's sitting at version 2.2. Is there a way to force an update over WiFi?
brucelinc
I have auto-updates turned on and the car is connected to WiFi, but it's sitting at version 2.2. Is there a way to force an update over WiFi? I still have 2.0 in my Continental and also have the auto updates on and have WiFi. I don't understand why it never updates. According to the message on the screen, it checked for updates on 11/27/2017 but didn't update.
Darrink1
I would go online to the owner site and see if 2.3 is available to download. My auto update did not work until the online site said it was available.

brucelinc
Yes, when I log in to the "my Lincoln" site, it indicates 2.3 is available. Actually, I am satisfied with 2.0 so I guess I don't really care about the update but I thought it should update via wifi automatically by now.
