arthurmac I dug out the Repair Order Detail to make sure I had the correct number. Here is what it says:

"Customer states check for vibration between 45-50 MPH without brakes applied."

1 KIT - CLUTCH REPAIR CV6Z*4A232*A $352.28

Remember, they replaced a number of other parts before this resolution did the job.

I'm glad you were able to track the problem down.  I bought my mkz used, 58,000 miles so no warranty for me.  Noticed the vibration in the test drive but thought the problem could be corrected with a new set of tires and a balance and alignment job but was wrong.  Live and learn, I guess.  I've come to believe the problem originates in the drive train or rear end.  Maybe in the electronics.  Anyway, thanks for the helpful post.

FYI I started this thread and tried many things but never quite succeeded in solving the problem.

Unfortunately a year ago I totalled my MKZ.  Was so sad as I really loved the car.  Planned to buy a newer MKZ to replace it or possibly the Continental but my wife strongly suggested I Switch to an SUV for better visibility.  ?

Out of fairness, it was my 4th incident with the MKZ and third time the front bumper was taken out (had already replaced the bumper twice!). This final time a jeep sheered it off along with the grill and other parts of the car.  ?

Alas I wasn't able to find the right combo of Lincoln crossovers and mileage, price, etc. Ended up with a Range Rover so may be the end of my Lincoln ownership experience.

Good luck to all of you on finding a resolution to the problem!

I've got this issue that i have been chasing since i got the car. I am also getting a clicking noise that leads me to think either U joints or driveline. Already did alignement and balance, had the tires pulled off inspected and reinstalled. Dealership tech went on a drive with me but was in a bad mood and said he didnt feel anything abnormal. Waiting on lincoln rep to come drive with me...

I changed my "drive control" setting to "normal".  It had been on "comfort".  Made a lot of difference to me.  Comfort was too bouncy and felt like you feel the road too much.  Felt like I did not have a stable set of wheels under me at times.  Also, don't seem to notice the vibration like before.  On the other hand, "normal" rides like my wife's lexus does.   Stable and smooth.

May not be your problem, but I thought I'd pass it on.

I know this thread is old but I had vibration for years at certain speeds with my 2015 mkz, it happened between 47 and 55 mph. Before and after those speeds it was pretty smooth. Anyway, I just fixed it though so I thought I'd post the solution. Turns out, mine was related to the lug nuts. Apparently the lugs that ford and Lincoln put on tend to swell over time, causing them to not being able to be tightened to spec. After going to Discount Tire for a standard rotation (and dealing with the tech telling me a few more of my lugs are swollen), I decided to replace them all with their brand of lugs. On my drive home, no more vibration. This was something that Lincoln dealers were trying to solve for me for the past 4 years thinking it was something mechanical.

Glad to hear you found such a relatively simple fix, even if it took a lot of false attempts to figure it out.

FYI I totalled my beloved MKZ 2.5 years ago.  It oddly became an accident magnet with 4 accidents in about six months. (I'm sure it had nothing to do with my driving!  LOL). I replaced the front bumper twice before the final accident that sheared off the newly replaced bumper as well as a good part of the front of the car.

Was sad to lose that car.  Would've replaced it with another MKZ or Continental but wife thought I'd better trade up to an SUV given so many accidents in short succession.

Oddly haven't had an accident yet in my Range Rover.
