If Ford does drop everything in the Conti/Zepher concept, then I'll be shopping for a CT6-based CT6 😏

Ugh.... modern Cadillacs look like Origami to me. And I'd be buying that legendary sub-FCA level of quality GM is becoming known for.

I agree on all counts, that's why it'll be incredibly stupid if Ford drops out of the luxury sedan market. The fact that I bought the MKZ to replace an aging Caddy STS shows I'm not anti-FOMOCO, but if Ford bows out, it's not likely I'll choose walking over going back to Cadillac. It's out of my hands at this point.

Ford's slogan should be "Want a car? Go to Honda or something." I can't wait to watch the domestic manufacturers scramble to flesh out their passenger car lineup when SUV/crossover market goes soft... again. And it will at some point. Fads always pass but this one seems to be taking it's sweet time.

If I was looking for a new car now, I think I would be looking at Genesis, KIA Stinger (although I really did like the Cadenza), Infinity, Lexus and Mercedes - all of whom still make luxury sedans.  As I still have a Ford F250 Superduty diesel 4X4 and this MKZ, I am likely good for a while.

I just bought a 2020 3.0 AWD MKZ loaded with everything but the panoramic roof and heads up display because after this its SUV's and I will not be in the market for one. I prefer sedans in my late 50's and having a 400hp sedan is perfect, for now. In 3 years, who knows but Ford/Lincoln screwed up by discontinuing them and they are going to lose a 40 year loyal buyer because of it.

I've decided to retire this year since the whole world has discovered online buying, and the shipping. It's hell at the PO to work now, the street time is up at least an hour, and they moved our starting times back 90 minutes each day. So I'm out as soon as I can do the paperwork.

Hunting an MKZ seriously is starting slow. I see very few cars that have colors I like, and the options people seem to order, are not my typical Lincoln stuff. I like to buy them with a few years on them, high options and just find it in great shape. My Mark VII's have been very good to own.

I don't like black or white for outside paint, or a black interior, so why are most made that way? Of what's left, I see very few AWD 3.0's, in any 2019 or 2020.

I was wanting a 2017 given my four year habit, but the Driver's package mandates a black interior, unless it's a Black Label model. I was happy to see the 2019 gets the torque vectoring standard, but the color choices and wheels are worse than the prior 2017/18's. The closest I've come to liking one is a new 2020 with Iced Mocha paint. It has the main options I'd like, the Elements and Luxury packages, plus the one wheel I like(came on all prior Driver's Package models(a curved spoked wheel)). The price, oh just $20k more than I had in mind.🤯

I see a 2018 Black Label MKZ in Texas near Dallas. It's close to what I'd like, the red paint is one of a few I could live with, and it has the Chalet(white) interior. The wheels are standard for the BL, but the car is 900 miles away. It's a better choice than what I have been finding, the BL may be the route to go if I can find the right one. My local dealer had a 2018 they sold about a year ago, that one had the nice blue I liked the most, and the Chalet insides. I didn't know then that the Driver's Package as a BL option, only $2400 versus $3400 on other 3.0's. That might have been the right car for me, but I wasn't ready back then.
