Just bought an 08 Lincoln mkz. Currently trying to install an aftermarket subwoofer on an original head unit. I'm having trouble converting the wiring harness to accommodate for the new amp and separate sub wires.

Can anyone tell me the converter I need or which wires lead to the rear (left and right) speakers or bass?

None of the guides I've found have the same color schemed wires as are in my vehicle.

You would need to get something like this BOSS B65N High Level to Low Level Converter + RCA Input or similar.

Tap in to the rear deck speakers with this to give signal to your amp.

Power cable with fuse straight from the battery and remote wire from the fuse box.

Hey izzy3906, I have gotten one of those converters and all the cables required. I've been told that the wires I need from behind the head unit which would go into the converter are: Brown green is positive brown yellow is your back left speaker
Brown white is positive brown blue is negative. Is this correct?

I really couldn't tell you that but if your MKZ does not have the OEM AMP you can just check the speakers and those should be the same wire colors coming from your head unit.

Hope this could help.

Hey izzy3906, I've checked the rear speakers and found that the rear right are black and white and black and blue, while the rear left are black and yellow and white and green. Got all excited to do the install only to find that my head unit wire harness has none of these colored wires coming off of it. Do you prefer anyone know the schematic for the 24 pin PBT-GF30 wire harness?

Check if one of these connectors looks like the one in your radio and look at the pins to see if there the same.

Found another 24 pin like the first one but different pin order.

Pin 18 WH/GN  Positive  Left Rear

Pin 6 BN/YE   Negative  Left Rear

Pin 17   BN/WH  Positive  Right Rear

Pin 5    BN/BU    Negative  Right Rear

Hope this help.

Your going about this all wrong, forget about the wires coming out of the head unit.

Get an audio control LC2 and wire it into the rear deck speakers and run a dedicated power wire from the battery. The LC2 will also control the amp remote turn on and the signal processing.

Or..... you can go this route...

I have yet to try this but something I ran across
