I haven’t had my 2012 MKZ AWD long but it’s been running like a top! Went on a 2hr trip that did have some grades and out of nowhere I had power issues, seemed like trans was slipping and then the car totally died. At first it didn’t want to restart, but did eventually. Got about 100ft and bucking again and died. Left it off and it did a little better on restart. The third time the check engine light came on and then it ran pretty good. codes: P1719-FF, P0171-FF, P0174-FF, and P0171-C. = lean conditions and torque signal. I think the torque was because the engine was dying and I was trying to get it moving. I got home with the light on. I cleared codes and no malfunction but I’m getting a consistent code P-1000 on-board readiness (no engine light). Guessing PCM but open to thoughts!

    Urgent - need advise!

Thanks for the warning but I’ve been looking at different salvage titles for months, I feel like I know what to look for. The dealer insists it was totaled out due to headlight, fog light and bumper. No bags deployed, but they’re the fancy headlights and fog. They didn’t replace the bumper or the fog light. There’s nothing newly painted behind the bumper, no sign of scrapped fittings or really anything being replaced other than the headlight assembly. After looking around I’m assuming it’s the torque mount. It ticks all the boxes and based on the prevalence of videos, it’s a very common failure point.

    Urgent - need advise!

I’m looking at a 2012 MKZ AWD with 70k miles. It’s salvage but everything looks showroom. Literally the only issue is a click/thud as the weight shifts in the car. Thinking a trans mount or similar. Noise is not activated by suspension or steering movement. Links, tie rods, axles all look good, it’s certainly not an engine noise. I really want to get it but don’t know how serious this might be, maybe it’s a common issue. help???
