EDIT: Imgur isn't cooperating with the pictures that i posted,  I'll figure it out and get them up shortly.  ........................................   Here we go, hopefully this will give you a good idea...   Below is a picture of a Ford Edge panoramic roof side piece, very similar to ours.  The trim is removed, but you can see the square boxes, which the part will attach on to.   Bottom of the pic shows which side he lifted up to start prying the part off, which would be opposite side of the double sided tape also used to secure the part in place.   [img]https://i.imgur.com/kdQDtwD.png[/img]   Next pic shows the MKZ part which shows a close up of the area that will attach on top of the similar box located on our MKZ.   (** Now I can only assume how this works here, and how I would go at it. **)   [img]https://i.imgur.com/7JKqd1r.jpg[/img]   Those attachments run along the front 7 across, with cushioning spacers in between.   [img]https://i.imgur.com/ofOJ70H.jpg[/img]   Here is a whole view shot.   [img]https://i.imgur.com/5KhHhEM.jpg[/img] [img]https://i.imgur.com/hGmSQk5.jpg[/img]   So basically the double sided tape is on the rear side of the part with the rubber strip.  So initially I'd start to pry from the front / forward side, start on one end and gently pry until the first attaching box (first of 7) pops off.  Then proceed down the line until you can feel only the taped area pulling up.  It'll get easier one after the next.  An Auto interior Trim Removal tool will probably work best, don't want any scratches.   The side pieces are similar, of course.  But, there are 5 attachment boxes and four cushioning spacers in between.  No tape is on the side parts. Should be pretty simple, good luck and let us know how it goes.  Pictures are appreciated.

Buy a good used one on ebay , have a local body shop install it , I did this for the brake light and saved hundreds of dollars .

I'll first agree with bbf on all points.   But I can also add some relevant tech, having just finished putting 200k on essentially same engine on our Focus ST.  For the record, that car was well maintained by regular fluid changes, well excepting brake fluid.  Last fall I thought I smelled a whiff of coolant, I was thinking possible heater core but realized it was a hot day and had a window open.  A few minutes later I got all manner of warnings and lost power/ran badly.  Shut down for a few minutes, okay on restart.  Digging in there was a cylinder head overheat code, the engine went into limp mode as the water pump was leaking out its vent port.  Around 195k miles or so.   In short, you will know when it wants a water pump, and it will ask reasonably nicely - protecting itself in the process.   As an aside, I should point out that engine did have a light appetite for coolant, so checking level periodically is a good habit.  Not sure about MKZ but in a Focus there is no low-coolant warning, other than the heater performance falling off and coming back. I think it went 6 years culminating in a cup every 3-500 miles, less so in cold weather.    Best, - Jeff   

Hi GeoMKZ. I don't have any official Ford "how to" videos or information. However, if you Google "How to clear Ford Fusion moonroof drains", or "How to clear moonroof drains" you should be able to find "How-to" videos.   There are 4 drains. One located towards each corner of the moonroof. I suggest using a thicker monofilament fishing line, or even the plastic line from a lawn string trimmer, to feed into and clear any obstructions deeper into the lines.   Keep us updated and good luck.  

Awesome info Fusionff... I have a question. You say these pieces "pop right out"... do you have access to any instructions on this. I'm afraid of breaking mine. And although I can replace if needed, I'm hoping not, since the only issue I'm having is water leaks. Thanks so much!

Thank you! Yes, it has a panoramic roof. I suspect the problem originates there. About 3 years ago, the interior cover motor went out, and it was covered by warranty. However, it took like 7 months to finally get it fixed (can of worms I won't explain right now)... anyway, there were no leaks at the time, but I've noticed that the top piece of trim between the windshield and the prao roof is loose, and there's some gunk in there (like pollen and dirt and stuff). So, I ordered some 3m auto tape, but I've been searching everywhere for instructions on how to correctly remove that piece of trim and can't find any. Does anyone have an idea where I can find that? The piece itself is a little older, but still in decent shape, and I'm almost 100% sure the water leaking into the floor there on the passenger side is from that loose piece above it.
