illdsign4u
Is anyone else having the problem of their dashboard buckling and thus making the grill crack and buckle up as well? It's so frustrating because I love my car, but this issue makes it not look very pretty. I have an 08 Lincoln MKZ. I got an estimate from the dealership to get it fixed at the tune of almost $500. This is not a mechanical defect nor is it wear and tear.....just poor craftsmanship!
JoeBrown
I do not have a 2008 MKZ but that's really strange. The car is 7 years old. I guess it's time for something to fail. I don't think it is indicative of "poor craftsmanship" probably just plain bad luck. Having said that, paying less than $500 to make it look like new sounds like a good price. You'll never had to do it again. Edited June 19, 2015 by JoeBrown
Mustang
Nothing bad luck about it, my 09 has the same issue. This is a design/manufacturing flaw that Lincoln is completely aware of but chooses to do nothing to correct. And my dealer quoted $2600 to repair the dash and I have 0 confidence that you would "never have to do it again." Mustang
I really hope it stays that way for you Rusty. I was at a gas station this morning when a lady in a black 08-09 MKZ pulled in next to me. I took a look at her dash and it was buckled just like mine with the passenger side defroster grid popped up out of position. She said hers had been like that a year or so and her dealer refused to repair it under ESP. She was quoted close to $3000 to repair it, like me, she chose to pass.
