Robert Iggy Cerami
Posted a photo like this a while back.... This one was with out A/C and the results were great... I am almost at 30k miles and it seems to be getting better on MPGs...
kevin_sos@hotmail.com
Don't expect 40+ at 80 MPH. The sweet spot is 62 MPH. That is where the EPA number comes from... on a flat road... no headwind... perfect temp... you get the point. The highest I have achieved is 39 MPG on a 1200 mile cross country trip. I was happy to get that since my SportTrac gets 21 highway on a good day. :) And yes, going downhill at 75 the MKZh will enter EV mode, but will not stay there for long. I knew going in that the EPA numbers of 45/45 would be hard for me to get since I live in Texas... Uber Hot in the summer and freezing in the winter (was a high today of 19!). Using the A/C or Heat keeps the engine running more often, therefore cutting down the MPG. I wanted a car that looked good, had a classy and comfy interior, and got descent MPG. The MKZh filled the bill nicely. I love my MKZh! :) Ditto, I have slowed down to 62 from 75 (and enjoyed the ride) my 50 mile commute takes me 5-10 minutes longer. here in Florida that gives me 40.5 MPG average. I'm debating tinting for more savings ? The Fusion forum seems to lean that way. Comments?

Bazookajoe
I have a 2013 MKZh, just had it in for the 20K service and software update, seems the dealers scan-tool had a corrupt file and when they downloaded the files to the car it fried the ABS units software,But after everything was replaced i have noticed a slight increase in mpg, maybe .5, I avg 42.7mpg and thats between 65 an 80 mph daily on a 44 mile one way commute with several hills. carbuff442
I have a 14 MKZh. Bought it as a left over in Dec 14. Currently i have 9,000 miles on it. I've never reset the main AVG MPG display. For 9k miles i have averaged 39.8 mpg. Things i learned: in winter when the HVAC is set to AUTO (70)/Recirculate, the engine runs more frequently since these units get their heat from the coolant in the heater core. This is also with both heated seats on - 40 mpg in summer when the HVAC is set to AUTO/Recirculate (70) the engine runs more frequently since these units get their cooling from electric compressor which drains the battery faster, requiring the engine to run more to keep it charged. 39.7 mpg in the spring when no HVAC is needed the thing gets incredible fuel economy. driving between home and work 15 miles 1 way the worst i got was 42mpg, best was 48.5 mpg. with windows down and panoramic roof open, i notice gas mileage to be the same as if windows are up and AC on. Im assuming its wind drag vs aerodynamics with windows up that come into play here. A recent Trip from Nashville - Orlando avg mpg with AC on was 39.8 mpg. I did notice in Fla that the AC compressor was very loud outside the car, but couldnt hear it inside. Overall im very pleased with the car. I came out of a 2004 GTO/5.7 6 speed. no regrets 8 months into the purchase.
Andrew L
I've only filled up a few times but best I got so far was 40.7 MPG since I have been averaging in the high 30s around 36-38 MPG. Mostly city driving with lots of lights.
Robert Iggy Cerami
I did get a 50 mpg a few times
Moe
Well the Mpg is back to what I call normal. I took a 190 Mile trip an I got 44 mpg. I think that's real good. I have a 2015 and It just turned 6,000 miles on the trip. I thought that my car had a problem because I had notice a big drop in mileage so I guess it was the tank of gas I got from Murphy. "never again"
pcweber
I drive a 50 mile commute each way daily, all highway/ freeway. I have not reset my avg mpg for over 4,000 miles nor had a dead battery, etc. It is a 39 or 39.1 constant.
meiamtv
I've had my 2012 MKZ Hybrid for almost 5 years. Nearing 100K miles. I have trips of more than a mile at 99.9 mpg. Longest/best: 14.8 mi @ 78.4 mpg. Love my "Hot Rod (hybrid) Lincoln". Came from Crown Vic Police Interceptor, so duly impressed. Have learned to drive a bit differently in the hybrid, avg. 34.7 mpg. I'm on everything: freeways, highways high- and low-speed city streets, dirt roads. Edited July 27, 2016 by meiamtv
Brandon Satterwhite
I have ~28k miles and haven't reset my mileage indicator, so over the life of the car, I've gotten 44.1 mpg so far. But it took me a while to adapt my driving style, so that number is going up. I routinely get over 50 mpg now, generally 52 to 55 mpg on most tanks, though I admittedly drive VERY conservatively. I always take the surface roads for local trips rather than highway, drive a little under the speed limit (42 mph), brake well before lights, etc. I've only recently realized what a big effect the A/C has on mileage. (Duh.) So whenever I can tolerate it (generally just in the evening, since it's summer), I've been turning off the A/C and just going with cracked windows, tilted sunroof, and the car's fan. This adds close to 10 mpg to the mileage. All mpg estimates here are from the car's computer, though I've noticed that that seems to overestimate mileage. My calculations are usually 2 to 3 mpg lower. Here looking to see if I can pick up other tips. I'm also wondering if anyone knows of iPhone apps for navigation that might give an Eco route comparable to the one the car has; I'm not thrilled at the prospect of having to pay Lincoln $150 every year or so to update the map. That really should be free, IMO.
hermans
I don't understand your having to update the map every year. I have a 2013 MKZh that came with an A4 map. About a year ago I bought an A7 map off of Ebay for $50.00. In my area and in Ohio and Michigan, where I travel, there have been new roads built since 2013 and the A7 map still didn't have the updates. Don't waste your money by thinking you have/need to update constantly. I also have a 2016 Edge with SYNC 3 and the maps on it are still not updated. Brandon Satterwhite
Well, yes obviously you don't have to update. Only if you want your maps to be up-to-date.
hermans
Obviously...like I wrote in my post.....the maps are not updated. Edited August 21, 2016 by hermans
Brandon Satterwhite
Sorry, I misunderstood your post. Thanks for the info. Still, it makes my original question even better: I'm also wondering if anyone knows of iPhone apps for navigation that might give an Eco route comparable to the one the car has I'd much rather rely on Google maps to keep my maps updated for free, but I'd still like to use the Eco routing algorithm. DeeCee
Just getting my new 2017 MKZ Hybrid broke in but after 4700 miles my lifetime mileage is 42.3 MPG (actual mileage, not what the car's computer.) This included one 1200 mile highway trip at 70-75 MPH which puts a significant hit on mileage. My normal commute of 18 miles one way on two lane highways and city streets is ideal for a hybrid. My best tank so far has been 46.6 MPG and the lowest was 36.1 MPG. My driving style is mostly engage ACC at the posted speed limit and sit back and enjoy the ride. My previous car was a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and my cumulative mileage when I traded it at 63,000 miles was 45.7 MPG.
Dlcaron
I have a 2015 MKZ Hybrid and I get great milage. Usually 40 with AC off and 37 with it on. I try often to run in Blue mode, having had a 2010 Prius previously. It makes a BIG difference. On our last trip, I filled in Flagstaff and drove home to the Phoenix area and then added 330 miles (total 470) around town on ONE tank-full. Got 44 mpg, but of course, it's downhill from Flag-town. Love my Hybrid! Robert Iggy Cerami
CAPofMD
Am running pretty consistently around 37MPG overall. Just got back from a trip up to northern PA and back and averaging 37.7 on the lie-o-meter. Will check after a fill up and post after I get my FUELLY numbers.. Myron D. Brown
Just got my 15, so far, right at 40 with mixed driving My 2017 is averaging 38.2. A lot of my short drives (5-10 miles) are ranging anywhere between 40 mpg and 63 mpg. But my average has never gone above 38.2. That's still great!! But I'm aiming for the 40 mpg EPA rating... DeeCee
Just got to 10,000 miles and my actual fuel mileage at this point is 42.2MPG. My previous car, a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid was 44.6MPG after its first 10,000 miles and the lifetime MPG was 45.7 at 63,000 miles when I traded for the MKZ Hybrid.
