rubyinla
When I first got my Hybrid I started keeping track of my mileage on my trusty spread sheet. So far I've covered 16,540 miles under my ownership. I've burned 403 gallons, calculated 41 mpg and show 40.4 mpg from the trip meter. I've done 5958 EV miles. Without those EV miles over the last 33 fill-ups I got somewhere around 25.9 mpg. Not sure how long this sheet will be on line. Trying out a new service and this is my rookie post with it. Skrrrt
These mpg seems way better than what I'm getting and idk what/if there's something wrong with mine. I have a 2015 mkz hybrid and it eats gas like a mofo. Full tank on the highway 70-80 miles an hour and I'll lose half a tank at maybe 100 miles. Dash shows between 30-33 mpg. Took it in and they said no issue. Tech supposedly drove it at 70 mph and said dash indicated 38 mpg. That's bs unless there's some magical way to drive highway speed. Changed spark plugs and doesn't seem to change. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Trying to compare MPG's with others or diagnose an MPG over the Internet is an exercise in futility. However, one thing I can think of (which will probably be completely wrong anyway?? Do the Hybrids have a "Sport" mode button/setting for the transmission? If yes, are you driving with it in Sport mode? Although using a half tank of fuel for 100 miles on the highway would still seem very excessive. I do not know if the Hybrid has a "S" setting, but if it does and you normally drive with it set to "S", the more aggressive trans mapping could eat into mpg's. If it is not that, hopefully another member will jump in with more help. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
rubyinla
I've got an ECOSELECT button in my 2016. Cut / paste from my owner's manual.... EcoSelect is designed to offer the best possible fuel economy with only a slight impact to vehicle performance and comfort. To activate EcoSelect, press the ECO button on the center console. A graphic displays on your information display when EcoSelect is active. You will notice: • Less aggressive heating and cooling. • Softer acceleration. • More regenerative braking. • Changes in engine behavior. • ECO Cruise control activation. Cruise control is apparently effected as well. That being said, from personal trial and error a hybrid likes stop and go: Above 70mph will cost you. 80 will definetly cost you. Look at my spread sheet. The column for MPG W/O EV MILES. The mileage sucks. You are pushing a 4k pound car down the road at 80 mph with a 2000cc engine. Those little squirrles in the cage are working their asses off. At 70 you have NO EV mileage. 80mph is the bomb going down hill ?

Multitask
My 2020 MKZ-H used to get about 42 for an average, but now that I have new tires (don't like them) I went from the Michelins it came from to the Goodyear Eagles and I've lost about 2 miles mpg. and they seem to be more noisy... so when I got for another oil change, I will ask them about that. See what they are willing to do. and no , the Hybrid does not have S, it does have a 'L' for low but you can't call it a gear per see Even @ 40, I'm glad I get that... getting 25-30 seems a waste. ? for the ICE vehicles
jm98
Same here I went from Yokohoma to Bridgestone/Firestone and lost almost 1MPG. Also these tires are noisy at lower speeds.

She doesn't do anything in particular to maximize MPG's and in my opinion drives a bit agressively. It's mostly around town in the San Sernando Valley, so I guess you'd call it "Suburban" driving. Very little highway and very little true city. I tend to get better in my 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid, usually around 33 MPG with the same mix of driving. I had expected the Lincoln to do better than the Nissan, but I guess that's par for the course lately with Ford's hybrids. Anyway, neither of us has anything to complain about. 2 great cars with great gas mileage. BTW, MPG's for both are as calculated by the cars' computers. yes, she’s aggressive if she’s getting only 31.4 in the city. I get 39-41 in the city.
