2013 MKZ No Start, Electrical issue?

Recommended Posts

Greetings. Currently my MKZ is in the shop but thought I'd try one of these Lincoln forums out to see if anyone else has experienced the same issues:

Type: 2013 Lincoln MKZ, 3.7L, less than 40,000 miles.

Issue: Went to start the car and the keys wouldn't unlock the door. Manually unlocked the door with hard key, got in, no lights, no gauges, no radio, etc. No power. Unable to start or shift.

Steps Taken: took battery to AutoZone, tested, just fine. Under Warranty so just had a tow truck haul to dealership.

Anyone experienced this issue of no start, no apparent power out of the blue in their MKZ? The car has been running fine up until this point. Curious as to what it could be.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like one of the main power fuses in the underhood power distribution box is blown.  Of course, if that's the case, they'll need to find the cause.  Back in the day, this was often caused by a badly corroded battery terminal or bad ignition switch.

In any case, let us know what the dealer finds.

Hello, I see this post is over 7 years old, but the exact same thing has now happened to me in my 2013 MKZ.

I've had numerous issues in the past few years and I this might be the final straw. Just debating on what to do as it sits in my garage unable to start.

I thought for sure it was the key fob, but now I notice nothing in the car has power.

Not looking forward to another tow bill and shop visit.

Is the power distribution box easily accessible from the hood?

Thanks!
