MKZjz
Hey guys, I currently own a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr and love the car. There are a couple things in this model year I don't like and have problems with like the dashboard coming up and the chrome peeling off the rims. I cut open the dash and realized it was probably going to be a couple k to fix. I've been looking at a few MKZs and came across a 2008 with 65k miles, AWD, Heated & Cooled seatch with NAV for 12k. I'm thinking about trading my car in for this 2008. It looks like this car has the same problem mine does with the rims but I am probably going to end up buying a set of after market rims. What are your guys thoughts? Worth it? My car has 94k miles on it.
JoeBrown
I personally did not like the MKZ until the 2013 model. I don't know your financial situation but if you if you could reach it I think you would be very happy.
Rusty Boltz
I'm happy with my '08. It has about the same mileage. Beware, the factory nav is really expensive to update.

Didn't the DVD updates used to cost around $200.00 ? The latest price is the same as updating our SD card based system... $149. Still too much money for what you get. :)

A lot of people are using apps on their phones.
lincoln_1999
Or, you could get a 2010-2012 MKZ if your budget allows.
JoeBrown
This is the first car I've had with a factory navagation system. After having four or five Garmins over the years, I see some advantages to the factory installation. If the cost of $149 a year for the map updates, was a financial burden, I probably would not be driving a Lincoln. ;) Edited May 26, 2015 by JoeBrown
Rusty Boltz
$149 isn't a burden, but it's expensive compared to the alternatives.
lincoln_1999
The Nokia Here maps app has the offline mode which let you navigate without consuming your data plan by downloading the country's map. And, whenever, there is an update, you will be notified. I have used it on the Nokia Lumia 930 (WP 8.1) and iphone 6 in my 1999 Lincoln Town Car. It works like a charm, never let me down once. That's why I don't care much about the factory navigation option because the navigation apps nowadays are far superior and cost nothing imho. https://www.here.com Edited May 27, 2015 by lincoln_1999
MKZjz
Well, I test drove the 2008 MKZ and it felt exactly like my 2006 Zephyr with just a little more power. I put some thought into it and I'm just going to keep my Zephyr. I just bought some new rims for it and they look sharp. I'll probably do some smaller upgrades and replace the dash. Thanks everybody for chiming in. One thing is for certain I would toss an after market nav in even if I would have bought the 2008. Thanks for the heads up on that!
