Acrenna97 Posted April 23, 2015 Share Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) I have a 2013 MKZ Hybrid. It currently has 22,000 miles on it and the tires are already shot. It is never driven hard (being a Hybrid its not fun to beat on it) so I can't figure out why the tires are already bald. It still has the OEM tires on it and I am going to talk to my local dealer to see if I have any recourse before buying all new tires. I thought these tires were junk, but what I realized today is that I have the same identical tires (size 18s) on my 2014 Toyota Camry V6 and with those tires, my Camry is better in the snow than any 4WD vehicle I have ever owned so I'm torn if I should give this brand another shot or go with a new brand. I was hoping I could get some suggestions from people here as to what brand I should get. I have the 19's on the car and I live in Buffalo, NY so I need to find an all-season tire that will handle well in snow if I decide not to get winter tires. I love the car but I came very close to trading it in several times this winter when I got stuck in less than 1/2 inch of snow on more than one occasion. Thanks in advance! NV Rick Posted April 26, 2015 Share Posted April 26, 2015 What brand of tire needs replacing? Have they been rotated at the recommended interval? Have you over/under inflated and checked the tire pressure regularly? The answers to these questions will help others to make suggestions. scttrich Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 Thise tires have a warranty that guarantees them to last 45k miles as long as you can prove you rotated them at regular 8k or less intervals. jimflutes Posted June 6, 2015 Share Posted June 6, 2015 Tire rack has the Perilli P7 plus an all weather tire , rated #1, very good in snow. I just put them on my 2013 Zh and they ride really good in wet weather, but I have not had them in snow yet , but from the reviews they look like winners. I too replaced the Michelins at 26,000 miles , and found them lacking in snow , the Perillies are very secure espically on corners. I have the 18 inch. tires. Davisjl Posted July 2, 2015 Share Posted July 2, 2015 Just replaced the Michelin MXM4 OEM at 30,000 on my 2014 MKZh with the Cinturato Perilli P7 Plus in a 245-40-19 for under $900.00 installed. I can say without a doubt that they are super quiet and smooth on the road. Maybe the Michelin had gotten a bit noisy with the wear, but it was a noticeable difference between the two tires and I'm very happy with my choice. I always found very positive reviews especially from BMW and Lexus owners. This is the highest rated allweather tire on tire rack in its category even ahead of the new Michelin , which also looks very good, and so far at 500 miles on them I am very happy with them , the big test will be in snow conditions , but I drove them in teaming rain storms with no problems , so I feel they will make it in the snow also , beside they were rated very good in snow. I also changed the Michelins at 26,000 miles , I feel this is a better tire , the Michelins did not do well for me in snow. At this point I feel this Perilli P7+ is a good fit for the MKZ. The Michelin Primacy's that came on my '14 were toast at 35k. I put on a set of Kumho Ecsta's and these are now toast at 50k. We don't have many name brand choices in this size. We had studded snow tires when we lived there :-) Today I would have a set of Blizzaks mounted in order to enjoy snow conditions. Seriously, give the Continental Extreme Contact DWS-06 a look. DWS stands for Dry Wet Snow. Indicators are molded into the tread to indicate when the cold weather performance layer has worn away. The high speed rating also applies to performance in rain.
