thatgirlismine
After shutting down the AC and turning of the engine, I heard a winding down or "whirring type" of sound coming from under the hood. Has anyone heard this too and/or would you happen to know what's causing this; should I be worried/get it looked at?
drolds1
That's your electric cooling fan shutting down. Perfectly normal. Nothing to worry about. The fan always runs when your A/C is on.

I think you're right, it sounds like the electric fan just winding down.
thatgirlismine
Thanks for the reassurance; the hot summer days have arrived so the fan is having to work harder. I really do love my MKZ!!!
AndrewMKZ
I was wondering the same thing, however, I received the same answer. I have never had a car to do such though.

So many cars run at such higher temperatures today that in some cases, the fan noise is noticeable.
william
I haven't heard that yet, but I have heard a sound first thing in the morning as I accelerate for the first time. I assume its the turbo?
