gr8insa
Has anyone installed a back up camera system in your MKX? I have a 2009 and it was not an option. Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks!
Greg R
I just bought a 2012 without a back up camera but part of the deal was to install one with the screen in the rear view mirror the estimated cost was around $
Blizzard35
I am also interested in having the backup camera/rearview mirror installed on my 2012 MKZ but my dealer said it was "very" difficult to do to get it to work with the reverse sensing system and it will "not" be an actual Ford/Lincoln product but after market. If anyone actually does have one installed on their MKZ, any information would be very much appreciated so I can go back to my dealer with maybe some part #s etc. Thanks in advance! barbours
I recently bought a 2013 MKZ and want to add a backup camera and have it appear on the main screen. If anybody can offer a tip I would appreciate it. I would prefer OEM product, but as long as it appears on the screen where the media, sync, phone all are accessed, it won't make a big difference to me. Thanks in advance for the assist. JoeBrown
Usually trying to add a factory installed option is not possible. Most, but not all, options are not designed to be user or dealer installed. Replacement parts are usually available for fixes but the OEM parts to do the full installation are not usually available. It may be possible with an after-market "kit" but it's usually quite difficult and, if successful, it's most certainly going to be inferior and lack some of the features of the factory installation. The cost will probably be more than if had it been ordered on the vehicle. Sorry but that's the way it is. :( Edited March 23, 2015 by JoeBrown
Neal Looker
Check out carid.com. the most difficult part would be figuring out where to put monitor. They have cameras that double add license plate frames.
Stang99x
Old thread, but I added one on my 2013 Mustang that mounted above the license plate. It is exactly like OEM. Don't get the Svideo connection though. It was made by Raxiom
