I want my buttons back.

Bring back the buttons. I hate having to look every time I want to seek on the radio. No the one on the steering wheel goes to presets.... GREAT unless you routinely drive over 100 miles to work on Sunday and back on Thursday. I don't have presets for BFE Ohio or Indiana or Illinois set so the skip to preset is worthless. I have to look down and press the invisible place on the dash to seek. Everything you do, you either have to look down and to the right or down between the gauges. Constantly taking your attention from the road. I could rest my fingers on the nice bar to keep me in place, but wait that turns the volume down. Nice I spent the extra money for the Navigation System just to bring out my trusty Garmin out of the beat up truck to stick it on my windshield because using the nav system in the damn car is like teaching a fish to fetch a stick. Then you can't do anything unless your parked. Your kid wants to pair his phone... Sorry we ain't stopping. Your wife wants to change the destination... Sorry we will find it when we get there cause I ain't stopping. Ford I know you signed this big contract with Microsoft but didn't you learn from Windows ME, Vista, 8 or Office 2011? Even your mechanics call it junk.
I love my car but the whole mytouch system needs to be repaired or replaced.

Bring back the buttons.

AFAIK, they are just doing that right as we speak. The MKC has buttons, the new MKX has buttons and I wouldn't be surprised if the new MKS and refreshed MKZ will get buttons, too.

Personally, I never missed them and If they would simply add them to the current interior of the MKZ, it will destroy the sleek and clean design.

The other things you mentioned are industry-standards in regards to safety. If you think it's dangerous to take your eyes off the road to seek through radio-stations, I have to tell you it's not any safer to enter a destination into the Navi or pair a phone while driving. Sure, somebody else could do it - but honestly, the same applies to seeking through radio-stations, right? ;)

Good Luck having anything recommended in this forum being accomplished. I have sent several letters to Lincoln Motor Company within months of taking delivery of my 2013 MKZ. I pointed out how dangerous the location of controls on the steering wheel was, the inadequate GPS, that provides very little information and relies on estimated data, rather then real time and speed for measurements( The Tom Tom and other hangon units costing less then $300 better provide for most drivers needs, back lighting cannot be adjusted on the message center, etc. I have never received an acknowledgement of my correspondence more than a year later. I enjoy my car immensely, but there are changes that would make it safer and better.

Mytouch had had so many problems it needs major updates

I guess that's coming, too.

However, be careful what you wish for. I would be surprised if Sync 3 would be launched without similar issues.

On my 2013 MKZ, I have to say that MyLincoln Touch runs quite smoothly. The only issue I ran into was when I couldn't set the A/C temperature once. That was it over the 14 months of ownership so far.

sync 3 is based off blackberry and not Microsoft... they kicked Microsoft to the curb. My guess is this will be a much better integration than the MS platform was. MS didn't put any time/money into it and blackberry can't afford not to make it work...

Personally, I like the clean look of the no buttons. I'm not sure I would have bought it with dials/knobs/buttons... I do most things voice activation anyway.

Same here. I never missed the buttons. My sales-advisor who drives an MKZ as well also stated that a simple addition of buttons wouldn't suit the design too well.

Alternatively, he mentioned some sort of pop-up dials/buttons as a possible solution. I thought that was pretty smart...

TOUCH; all the way.  It's one of the draws to the MKZ for me.  Yes, Nav is frustrating at times but once you (or co-pilot) gets it all is OK.  I can't speak to "no presets" since I use them but don't switch around to often...mostly radio to CD's on a flash drive and use the voice command if I remember them.

The touch shift buttons, another reason I like the MKZ, after 6 months still catches me off guard now and then.  I was backing up yesterday and out of habit, reached for the gear shift...good thing no one saw me.

Try going from a '13 MKZh to a '02 Explorer Sport Trac with column gear selector to a '13 Fusion Hybrid with console shifter!  Don't even get me started on the adaptive cruise control (or lack thereof).  :)
