perclark
Just tried to drive my 2012 mkz in the snow - I've had toboggans that had more control. Do I need to TCS on or off when I try to drive in snow? Do I need snow tires (its fwd so assume only in front)?
SteveB_TX
Yes. Traction control needs to be ON. Yes, you should have snow tires ON ALL FOUR CORNERS of the car. Snow tires are not meant to only be put onto the drive wheels. R2D2
R2D2
Sorry, we don't have that issue down here ;) :headspin:
JAWMKZ
X2 for Traction Control on and Snow tires or you can do what I did, knowing the stock 19" Michelin tires and Lincoln wheels would not cut it in NEOHIO snow (nor will the finish of the wheels last), I purchased same year, new take-off Fusion wheels and tires and they have done pretty good so far. Has helped with potholes and road bumps due to plows as well. My OEMs are safely secured in vacuum sealed space bags in my dry basement (awaiting the three months I can safely drive on them in decent summer weather). With the cost of snow tires, going through the hassle of mounting and un-mounting each season, I was able to purchase all four tires/wheels/TPMS and put wear on those tires when the weather is bad, and when it is not, they do not look too bad.
