R2D2
I don't know what possessed Lincoln to mount the trunk light where they did on the MKZ Hybrid. I guess it would be OK if you never planned to put anything on the "battery' shelf thus blocking the light. I found a great solution by adding a second light at the right rear corner and wiring it into the original one to pick up the power fed by the lid switch. A couple of spliced wires and screwed it to the lining, it works great. Here is the unit I ordered (I couldn't find anything at my local parts shop) www.ebay.com/itm/281457868600 Here is a picture of the install (with and without the light on) and you can use the button on it to kill the light if it is too bright (the picture did distort the light when on) Edited November 29, 2014 by R2D2
Mark95man
I used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2PC-Bright-LED-COB-Driving-Daytime-Running-Lamp-Fog-Light-White-12V-Car-Auto-DRL-/271475108618?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f352d6b0a&vxp=mtr. Great for the trunk and under the dash as they light up the dark interior at night. For the under dash, I connected the LEDs to the lite LINCOLN on the door sill opening. They turn on when the door is opened and turn off when closed. For the trunk--connected to the factory light and placed this in the top, center of the trunk. I also installed these in my Navigator which also had a dark under dash with no lighting. Others just purchased another costly dim factory light but these LEDs are the answer to the issue. Tucker
It does seem silly to put it in that place. I will be adding a new one this winter since it is dark by 4.30 makes it a pain to use the trunk

StuntBikeJake
I came from a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze to a 2014 MKZ... and I was not impressed with the lighting in the trunk.. my cruze was phenomenal and this lighting setup just flat out sucks... also sucks to think a 2 year older, lesser product has any feature over this vehicle...
