PAM module and Parking sensor options?

I posted this in wrong forum so here is a repost of i hope good location.

Hi all, im working on firmware flashing to enable my park assist with the sync 3 upgrade i did almost a year ago in my 2016 3.7 Reserve, which learned the hard way and bricked my PAM so i gotta go get a new one monday.  I have a couple parking questions if anyone has solutions or answers?

  • Car has every avail option except AWD and massage seating; Ive noticed that some MKZ have parking sensors at the rear sidemarker and some dont.  Mine only has the 4 in front and 4 in rear so the 8-sensor system and in forscan i see options for 10-sensor system. Why dont i have any by my sidemarker if i have the park assist seems silly to not be there unless they were and replaced with wrong bumper im not sure havent dug into it that far to see.

  • Also, if I get a PAM from a 2018 is that has the auto hold but not park assist, is forscan going to allow me to flash firmware on it that can function and execute park assist? or will it be a waste of buying as ill be right back where i started?

  • And lastly, does anyone have any clue where the PAM is located at? Havent found it online yet the searches pull up a plethora of parking sensors but nothing about modules.

Thanks for any help,
