So last visit to Lincoln dealer they did the works service ( $108.00 ) and said that I should have the throttle body cleaned  ( $102.00 ), car has 22 K miles . I went with it because I want car to last a long time . Was this a needed service ? I am getting suspicious of the dealer .  Jim

Hi jimflutes. Well, blind Internet diagnosis/opinion: Assuming you were having no driveability issues, and with the information you provided (~22,000 miles), my opinion would be no, it was not a needed service.

And according to what type of method they used to "clean" the throttle body, it may have even been a Lincoln/Ford prohibited service.

Many dealers will try to up-sell these services, which in many cases, are not necessary or needed.

Good luck.

bbf2530 good to hear from you , From what I now read about this service is that it is good to have it done but it is not needed this early in the cars history . I also ask them to check a tire for a slow leak , the tech guy said he did all kinds of test but could not find it , next day I went to a family run shop and he found it in 5 mins , it was a simple faulty tire valve ! So it is lesson learned , and I much rather give my business to the family shop , for some reason I thought that since the Lincoln dealership knows Lincoln cars you would get  more of a knowledgeable service . On the plus side I am still enjoying this car ( 2018 MKZh select ) every time I get into it . Stay well , Jim Ferere
