Zondedo Posted March 29, 2022 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Recently I’ve noticed an increase in the number of pop-ups and annoying advertisements on this forum. Anyone else? Half my screen is occupied by advertisements and you have to fight your way to find the forum content. What gives? perhaps the site owner / moderator could explain themselves? I use a PC for the site and other forums I participate in and extremely rarely use my phone to navigate the forums (as in not for at least over a year until just now). When I did in the past, I used Chrome and did not have any issues. I just tried accessing through Safari and had an outcome similar to yours. Then I tried using Chrome and the ads were much smaller and no popups. I would advise trying Chrome or another browser to see if it helps. Like bbf2530, I don't use my phone to access the site unless I'm away from home. In that instance, I use Chrome and don't get pop-ups. Does Apple have any ad blockers you can install? For a variety of reasons, I'm not a fan of Apple. For the record, the moderators have nothing to do with running the site. Hence, we can't "explain ourselves." Multitask Posted March 31, 2022 Share Posted March 31, 2022 I turned off my ad program (that also blocks popups) and yes, something came up.... on a small screen it might be annoying. But as Drolds said, these web sites don't exists with out some adverts... Maybe see if your phone and or browser can block those or use something else. I’m okay with that but something recently has changed and the MKZ forum is the only place that I’m seeing it. I have all of the ad blockers turned on in safari which is usually enough.
