Oil life & Remote Start

Oil life and remote start features do not appear in my app.  these features have not appeared in months.  When I open the app, I see an image of the car, my member number and name, and the "My Account" tiles.   click on "my vehicle" and it displays my license plate number and VIN. i bought the car in Feb 2021 and it worked fine all summer... i just didn't use the features a lot over the winter months and recently realized these features are missing.

I'm using iphone 13 Pro and most current version of the app. i go to message center, i see a message from almost a year ago that described the feature and had a link to activate... i have been connected since the day i bought the car.  i tried to click this link and nothing happens.

Any suggestions?

Hi Brian and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. Could possibly be at least one of two issues. First, if you purchased a new phone, you need to pair the new phone to your car and to the LincolnWay app. So that could be the problem.

If that is not it, then it could be this: Phone companies are eliminating 3g cell service. Features such as oil life, fuel level, remote start/lock/unlock etc. via the Lincoln Way app (no the keyfob), are all controlled through the 3G modem.

If your 2017 MKZ has the older 3G modem (I don't know if the 2017's had 3G or 4G modems), it will lose those features.

I would recommend you call Lincoln Concierge and ask for more assistance with this matter.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

My 2018 has the 4g modem and those features are still working for me.  I did once experience an issue where they stopped working for a week or so,  but the icons did still appear on my screen. That seemed to be a fluke and it just started working again.

Hi leftoverture. Yes, the 2018 MKZ is equipped with the 4G modem. However, I am not sure whether the 2017 MKZ is equipped with a 3G or 4G modem. So the OP will need to check with Lincoln Concierge, his Lincoln Dealership, or hope someone here will accurately verify which it is.

Good luck.

Great info, thanks. I'm sure it will help those who were using it and wish to continue!

MKZ / MKZ Hybrid 2015-2017 Hermosillo July 28, 2014 through September 5, 2017

should let folks know if their MKZ is affected, and their mfg date should be in the upper left corner of the drivers;s side doorframe sticker, near the VIN.

  • 5 weeks later...

Those that still have a 3g modem will no longer be able to use the app to its fullest.  Because of the shut down of the 3g band.

Ford/Lincoln will pay for the labor for some models... you just buy the 4G modem... but as a reminder, 5G is here, so eventually the 4G modems will stop working when they shut down the 4G signal..... so it will be on going...

2018 seems to be the cut off year... but not for all ford/lincolns
