leftoverture
Well, since I'm on my second Mkz and also own a BMW, the comparison between Sync and i-drive is inevitable. The summary: there is no comparison. We all know Sync 3 was a huge upgrade over Sync 2, but either version is far better than i-drive. For context, my BMW is a 2016 which I believe is i-drive 5.0, but I have also used i-drive in a 2017 X5 (6.0?) and i-drive in a 2020 (latest version maybe?). Truthfully, the i-drive in the 2016 is more intuitive to use than than either the 2017 or the 2020. In fact, I found the 2020 to be crap. It was confusing and very difficult to learn. Absolutely horrible. Sync beats all i-drive versions. Not by a little, but by a huge margin. Sync is so intuitive and easy to use you rarely, if ever, need to consult the owners manual. It's just super simple to learn and find all the functions you need. You never have to wonder how to operate Sync. And this is not only more convenient but it is safer, too, as I'm less distracted behind the wheel. So nice job Ford/Lincoln. You kept it simple and it worked. bbf2530
