I can't even tune a radio station. I recently changed the battery. What could cause this?

Thanks

Hi lincoln. Silly question...but have you turned on the audio system by pressing the power-on button below the SYNC screen? Can you connect a phone?

Good luck.

Thanks, but that's not it. I tried both the manual button and the digital button.  Nothing happens.

HI lincoln. Okay. Then other possibilities: There is a battery reset procedure which needs to be performed after a battery replacement. Otherwise, certain vehicle features may not be available until the reset is performed. Was it performed?

If it was not, letting the car sit completely untouched for at least 8 hours will also perform  the reset. However, by completely untouched, that means at least 8 hours, locked, completely untouched, not checked with the LincolnWay app, not approached with the keyfob, etc. etc. But I would assume it sat for at least 8 hours at some point since the battery was changed? If not, this could be the problem.

You could also try a full SYNC reset, following the procedure outlined in your Owners Manual.

Also, I asked but you must have missed: Have you been able to connect a phone?

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

When I posted about my 8" screen going black, one of the things I was not able to do is use the buttons on the dash to get the radio on...

But after about 12 hours of it sitting, the screen came back... and of course the buttons worked again.

THis is not to say you are having the same issue... but maybe

When the battery was reconnected, did you tell the car it had a new battery?  These car need to know things like that...

I did miss it. No, the phone won't connect and the GPS has a circle with a line through it. Thanks!

Hi lincoln. So it seems you have no audio, NAV or phone connection. Have you tried a SYNC system reset, following the instructions in your Owners Manual?

Try that and post back.

Yes, by holding the power button and the fast forward buttons. No change.

Hi lincoln. You can try throwing parts at it, such as replacing the APIM etc. However, it may be better to have it properly diagnosed and corrected by a Lincoln Dealer.

I am sure others will jump in with more suggestions.

Let us know ho you make out and good luck.

Like bbf said, maybe the dealer? A scheduled dealer stop might be just the minimum shop charge. I'd call your regular dealer and ask the service writer if it sounds like something they would be willing to put on their equipment while you waited if you had an appointment. If you have been a regular and hopefully they have a full crew in the back, you may be surprised.

Seriously, I have my favorite Service Writer at the local Ford dealer (no Lincoln place near by) and I don't even stop in for an oil change without around $30 of fresh, bakery donuts for him to spread the wealth "in back" (he knows to never forget the parts guys & cashier). Bribery? Hell no, I just want to be known as the donut guy when I need help, not the retired prick who comes in all grumpy because his !#$%^& car/truck needs something. My superhero costume is, "Politeness Man"
