Wishing to change my tire

Hello Everyone!

 

The owner's manual says the jack points can "easily" be spotted by looking for arrows and triangles in the molding, but there are no arrows and there are no triangles in my molding. I haven't been able to find good images of what the jack points look like.

 

Can someone point me to the correct location?

Hi lincoln and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. They are there. They would not be particularly easy to see (or feel), with slush a covered rocker panel (as in your photo). Also...they are at the bottom of the rocker panel, not on the side where they are easy to see (in real life or in your photo).

Probably in the general area under (as in lower, not behind) where the snow is in the left side of your photo.

 

Unfortunately, you will need to get down on your hands and knees and look. If you can not find the triangle (it points down), then look and/or feel for the notch in the pinch weld. That is where you place the scissor jack. I would estimate 8"-12" behind/in front of the front/rear wheel wells.

 

I would go out and measure my car, but we just had 9" of snow that I cleared from my house and 5 of my neighbors, so I'm now in warm, dry clothes and in for the weekend.

Hi lincoln. Yes, there is a belt routing diagram in our Owners Manual. Towards the back in the "Maintenance and Specifications" section. I have looked in the past for others.

Yes, I get it.  I live in West Michigan, One of the saltiest areas in the Midwest but I choose to store the Lincoln and other high dollar value cars during the winter months. A coworker of mine spent over 80K on his new GMC Duramax.  He washes it enough but it has already developed rust on the frame.  The entire chassis is corroding…. Such a shame.  My sacrificial daily driver right now is a minivan from Florida.  I plan to use it up until it’s gone…

I lived in Saugatuck for a couple years,  they don't use as much salt as we do here in the Minneapolis area.  You almost can't tell if you're on black top or concrete here this time of year.  But I sure do remember the west Michigan lake effect snow!

 

I used to have classic cars I wouldn't drive in the winter,  but now we're down to only two cars and they both get year round use. Today I'm driving our convertible, top up of course. It's a BMW 228i, all wheel drive, and it's good fun on slick roads!
