leftoverture
I would need much more detail to even have a hope of telling you what to check. If you still have warranty left, you should maybe try a different dealer. Otherwise, I would suggest finding a reliable shop in your area so you can get a proper diagnosis. jwhite@00261
jwhite@00261
Just battery issues give it a Jump and it'll start but it's an ongoing event. Batteries been replaced by the dealer and checked by the dealer twice.

What do you mean the "dealership won't do anything"? Exactly what did they say? You say it It "won't start again for the third time". The third time in how long? 4 years? 1 year? A month? Two days? You have a 4 year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty, and if you are outside that, you have a 6 year/70,000 mile Powertrain Warranty. If your car will not start, the Dealer needs to determine why. They can't just say they "won't do anything". Are you also outside the Powertrain Warranty? Did you purchase your MKZ new or used? If used, how long ago? As leftoverture stated, you need to provide more information. Warranty status? How many miles on the car? How often and how do you drive the car? Infrequently, with mostly or all short trips? Is it possible you are not driving the car often enough to keep the battery charged? If a jump from another vehicle starts the car, then there is a good chance your battery is failing/failed. However, if you are outside the 4 year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty, a replacement battery would not be covered now, unless you can get Lincoln to do it as a customer service. So as previously stated, there is too much missing information to begin to help. Provide the answers to the above questions, so we can begin to figure out why "the dealership won't do anything" and try to help you. Good luck. Izzy3906
Hi jwhite you may want to check if the alternator is charging the battery. The way you can check this is with the vehicle on take off the negative terminal of the battery and if the vehicle turns off you would have an alternator problem.
