leftoverture
Seems unfortunate I don't even have 30k on the odometer and already my MKZ is throwing a code. P1013 Code - Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Park Position Bank 2 Good thing I'm still under the bumper to bumper warranty.
leftoverture
Well, talked to the dealer and they can't look at my CEL until Monday. I have an appointment for tomorrow for an oil change but no Techs available on Saturdays. And they said they would need it at least two days. The good news is Lincoln has agreed to supply me a rental car until mine is done. But I will be without my MKZ until at least Tuesday evening. leftoverture
Now taking guesses when I will get my car back. When I made the appointment, I was told "a day or two". When I dropped it off I was told "3 or 4 days". Apparently, like so many other businesses these days, the dealer has more service work than they have technicians to handle it. Last Thursday I stopped by my local go-to shop that I trust, in order to set up an appointment to bring my old MKZ in to diagnose an issue. I stopped by instead of calling, on the off chance they were able to take it right in to look at. They are good like that. I use them for service on the old MKZ only. And only the Lincoln Dealership for my new MKZ. Anyway, last Thursday they had 4 techs out, specifically with Covid. So I set up an appointment for this morning. This morning they have the same 4 techs out, plus one more. Half their entire tech staff. And I know they were telling the truth, because every customer phone call from owners (or walk-in) wanting to bring their car in today, tomorrow etc., were told a version of the same thing..."I'm so sorry, but we have 5 of our people out this week and are very short-staffed. So we can not take your car in until...(Wednesday/Thursday/after Christmas etc.)". Then when the owner was doing my estimate, I heard him speaking with the rep from the parts depot where they get their Motorcraft parts (usually delivered same day). And the parts depot rep was telling the owner of my shop a version of the same story. They could not deliver the parts until tomorrow, because they are so short-staffed with people out sick. So he told me they'll have the parts in tomorrow morning, will finish my car by end of day, then I left my car. It is surely a difficult situation all around right now. Let's hope next year is better. ? Hope you get your MKZ back soon and good luck. Edited December 21, 2021 by bbf2530
leftoverture
Well, just heard from the dealer. They found two failed sensors. The one that controls the turbo wastegate and a vacuum sensor. They have parts on order and the car should be ready tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. Meanwhile, I'm kind of digging this 2020 BMW 330i rental.
leftoverture
Finally got my MKZ back yesterday. Fresh oil change and they replaced the sensor that controls the wastegate and the other controlled the EGR system. It was weird because I opened the Lincoln Way app on my phone and I could tell the work was done because it showed all the codes cleared and the oil life set back to 100%. Sure enough about a half hour later they called to say it was ready. Pretty cool to have that app. I didn't know it would read the car's status from so far away. As much as I had fun with the loaner BMW, it sure was nice to get the MKZ back. I can confidently say that Sync is far better than i-drive!
