Hi NCG. The suffix of a part number can change with updated parts etc. If you can cannot find the correct module on your own, call or stop by the Parts Department of your Ford or Lincoln Dealership and ask them for the correct/current part number and a price. Then you can negotiate the price with them, or take the part number and shop around/online for availability and price.

I find stopping the Parts Department and speaking face to face gets better results than calling.

Let us know who you make out and good luck.

Hi NCG. In your other post, you stated, "Why does it say it wont work".  Please provide more details. Who or what says it won't work?

Discussing the photos you posted in your other thread: While it may require programming to your vehicle, if the part numbers match, there is no reason the module should not work.

But as always, if you purchase used parts, you take your chances.

You may or may not be able to get an answer here. In the meantime, you can always go to the Parts Department of a Ford Dealer or another Lincoln Dealership to get the correct or current or part number.  Or alternately, you don't need to involve your ex, since you don't need the the Service Department, or the help of your Service Manager ex for this. You only need to speak with the Parts Department.

Unless she has you blackballed in the entire Dealership? ?

Just speak to the Dealer Principal/Manager.

But again, if you can not get an answer here, you can use any Lincoln or Ford Dealership to get the correct/latest part number.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Hi NCG. I cannot speak for errors in the sellers database. What we can tell you is: If the part number is the same as the corresponding part in your MKZ, then it is the same part as the one in your MKZ and will work (assuming it is in working condition).

However, I do not know if the "trunk control module" requires additional programming. And/or if it does require programming, if you can do it yourself. Of that I am not sure.

Good luck.

The programing isnt a problem.I dont wanna spend over $100 on a part that didnt come from an mkz in hopes that it works.Heres other examples as well. Why doesnt any of them say mkz if it will work

Hi NCG. If the part number is the same, it is the same part. The same parts are often used in multiple vehicle models.

Again, we can not speak for errors in a sellers database. That information is only as good as the person who entered it for that website.

However, if the part number is the same, then the part is the same. There is nothing else anyone can tell you here. If you need further corroboration, you should speak to the Parts Department staff at a Lincoln or Ford Dealership.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Hi NCG. Not sure what you are sorry about. I have even provided a link above that shows the same part is used for multiple vehicles, including your MKZ.

You search for parts by VINS's and/or part numbers. i have provided the link.

The information provided is correct. If you are confused or do not believe the information, please ask the Parts Department at your local Lincoln or Ford Dealer. That is the correct way to find parts information when having difficulty.

Good luck.

Ive got several different outlets looking for an answer for me.After looking up my VIN,a certified Lincoln mechanic informed me that the part # ending in "AR" is for a Ford Edge.It will not work for a MKZ.The correct module that is required and updated for my(or any)MKZ will end in"WP".Thank you for the help, hopefully i figured it out.

Hi NCG. Then yes...let the "certified Lincoln Mechanic" or the Parts Department at a Lincoln or Ford Dealer find the correct part number for your MKZ...by VIN...as previously suggested.

If the part taken out of your MKZ had the part number of "DG9T-14B673-AR", then that part number will work. However, as also previously stated, parts are sometimes improved/updated. And when that happens, the part number is also updated.

And the best way to get the newest part number is by speaking to the Parts Department at a Lincoln or Ford Dealer. As previously mentioned.

Just try not to date/break up with any more of the local Lincoln and Ford Dealer staff. ?

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

We now have 2 simultaneous threads for what is essentially the same topic.  This is exactly why we don't allow multiple posts for the same thing.   This thread will be locked and read-only going forward.  Any further discussion should be held in the other thread posted in the 2013-2016 MKZ forum.

No, it's not a sin. Just confusing and a waste of bandwidth.  If it's valuable information, it should be in one place.

These are the housekeeping rules around here.  That's why there are moderators.  The sarcasm is uncalled-for and unappreciated.

My bad.Sorry its such a sin to have valuable information in 2 locations. What was i thinking?

Hi NCG. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's not a sin, as drolds1 stated. It simply makes it easier for people to help you if all questions, replies and information are in one place.

And we assume you wanted help, even it if did take repeating the same thing over and over before you did what was advised in the first place.

Good luck.

Tell you what,if you could point to the quickest way to close this account,id be much obliged.

Hi NCG. Accounts can not be closed or deleted. You can simply stop participating in the forum, if that is what you want to do. Or you can go through your previous threads and delete the content of your posts yourself, if you wish.

Another option would be to "ban" you. But that will not delete/eliminate your previous threads and posts, it will only ban you and keep you from posting anymore.

In the meantime, we will lock this thread, since it has run its course and you no longer wish to participate in the forum. If you wish to do something different, PM one of the Moderators and let them know.

Good luck.
