How To Tune?

So I am getting the Livernois tuner. I know practically next to nothing about tuning and how to request, download, and load tunes.

Here are a few questions that I've had that I've tried looking for but couldn't find.

For the Livernois is there a list of custom tunes/ECU file tune downloads that I can find online?

Is a rice krispies tune available, if there is, how can I get one?

How much horsepower can the Livernois increase for 2.0?

That's pretty much it. Thanks again.

Hello MKZlan

You will probably find a better answer to your question in the Ford Fusion forum  http://www.2gfusions.net/

Remember the Fusion also has the 2.0 engine and I am pretty sure a lot of them has done this mod.

Let us know what you find out and good luck with all your mods.

Hi MKZlan. In addition to Izzy's advice, I would also recommend calling Livernois and asking them all of your questions. I am sure they will be happy to answer any and all questions you may have about their product and what they can provide for you.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I had to look up what a "Rice Krispies" tune was.  Apparently, it's a riff on the famous "Snap, Crackle and Pop" tagline for the cereal of the same name.  So you want a Lincoln that unleashes crackling,  popping, and fireballs out the exhaust on the overrun?   At the risk of sounding like an old fart, I think you bought the wrong car.  This is more like Honda Civic stuff and out of character for a Lincoln, whose motto now is "quiet luxury."  Lincoln engineers went to great lengths to make this car quiet.

Something else to bear in mind: is one or both of your 4/50 B2B and 6/70 powertrain warranties in effect?   If so, and you have a warranty claim for engine damage or exhaust system/catalytic converter damage from the "Rice Krispies" tune, you risk having said claim(s) denied.  Any warranty claims for serious engine damage must now be first submitted to Ford with a download of the car's ECU programming  history. They can, and will, look for aftermarket tunes in that history, and returning the stock tune won't hide that.

Read your warranty guide:

I would like to do something different. This is the main reason I got this car. Don't worry, I'm taking extreme care of this car. I am upgrading everything that could be upgraded in the best fashion possible. I'm dropping a lot of money on this car so it won't get damaged.

My warranty is not a problem at this point, the motor and transmission have both since been replaced to brand new after problems.

I can also fix my own vehicle if it is not a considerably major problem.

"It's my style." A big quote I've been referencing when people ask me why I'm doing all of this. I have been trying to make a build happen for years but it somehow someway gets postponed. So this is it. My build. And I can't wait to see everyone's reaction when I come out with a vehicle that sounds, looks, and is the essence of beauty.

Love that your tuning the car, I’m glad people are noticing these cars are luxurious but can also be taken to next levels! No need to remain fully stock but that’s my Opinion.
I don’t have the livernois tune, however I do have the SCT tuner with a 91 octane tune from unleashed tuning.
if you don’t have any upgrades to the car like intercooler, downpipe or cold air intake you won’t be seeing a lot of crazy power. The “off the shelf tunes” will def bring a bit more torque from low end boost since these are turbo cars after all.
Be careful with the rice krispy tunes tho, my friend had it on his 2.3L ecoboost mustang and within 3 months he cracked a piston, he did 2 step a lot as well.
get a good tune that you can actually data log and get a couple Of revisions to make sure your running safe boost.

Thank you very much! Odd question, but does the SCT tuner have the Rice Krispies tune ?option?

I don’t quite know much about tuning so I really don’t know how to even download a tune.

Say if I were to get an SCT, once I get one, can I request a custom tune from a professional shop? Such as a Rice Krispies or Track tune? And if not, do I have to buy a special tuner for the tunes?

And how would I go about getting a good tune that i can actually data log and get a couple of revisions to make sure your running safe boost?

Yeah actually you can get a rice crispy tune, you can get it through different tuners. When you purchase your SCT most sites will also have a tune you can buy for like $150-250 depending on how custom and modifications you have. When you purchase the tune you get an email from the tuner and they’ll ask to share the car information, mods list, vin number etc. Then you’ll get a “base tune” which is just marrying the SCT device with the car and then your ready for tuning. Then you ask for say a “91 octane tune” or the rice krispy tune. You’ll get a file download it onto the SCT device from a laptop. And bam your set. Depending on who tunes the car you’ll have some revisions, which is essentially driving with the tune ínstaled and your laptop connected to your SCT device, that’s called “data logging” you send the file from your drive to the tuner through email and they will revise it to make it better, usually pushing more boost.
Haha sorry for the rant, but maybe you and some other members will find this helpful!
