JoeBrown
I do have the issue with my 2014 Mkz. In fact just last night it came on as white whereas it was previously set to blue. JoeBrown
I just realized that since I applied the latest Sync update (EA5T-14D544-AC Gen2 - V3.7) which I believe was only for the 2014 MY, the problem has not reoccurred.
R2D2
I just applied the update, I will have to see if it corrects the ambient lighting issue as well. I will reset it tomorrow morning.
R2D2
The sync update (V3.7) also seemed to have updated the NAV, I noted new button on the main driving screen to mute the Nav voice. Anyone have a list of the changes made with this update?
drolds1
I had the first service done last week. The above mentioned TSB 14-0175 was performed for the ambient lighting issue. Also, TSB 14-0016 was performed (Fuel Economy Gauge Bar Stuck) to address that issue. Both seem to operating as intended now. WRT to getting the redundant outside temperature indicator to the right of the odometer, that's apparently not going to happen. BTW, whatever they did unpaired our phones and erased all saved Navigation information (Favorites, etc). I have applied the latest Sync update which appears to have fixed the ambient light issue. When I read the TSB again and it said "If the last five numeric digits (e.g. 4.30.13171.PRODUCT) are 13171, proceed to Step 2." Step two would apply the TSB. Mine did not contain that number so the TSB apparently does not apply. I'm not familiar with the Fuel Economy Guage Bar. I have the Reserve Equipment Group. Is that something that came in the Technology Package? I have the complimentary maintence but never received anything to that effect. Do they automatically know? I ask the dealer to see if the can enable it on my 15 3.7 but they said that it can not be done..on another visit I had to drop off my car for few days to fix the A/C smell. (replacement of the evaporator case).. They gave me a loaner a 13 MKZ 3.7 and it had the outside temp showing next to the odometer.. Why would they not have it on the newer model as well.. Its seems to be same instrument cluster on both cars...Dose anyone know Lincoln's logic behind this ? All MKZs have the instantaneous fuel economy gauge, Joe. It's "Fuel Economy," in the main menu on the left side right below the trip odometers. This is a 2013 pictured below. The 2014 is a little different. On the former, the white line moves up and down ranging from zero at idle all the way up the scale when coasting, for example. Mine has a blue horizontal line, where the white one is in the picture, that apparently shows average fuel economy with a white bar in the middle that moves. That white bar was not present on mine before the reprogram. I'll get a photo when I get a chance. WRT complimentary maintenance, you don't have to do anything. All Lincolns automatically qualify. I have no idea why they eliminated it but it really wasn't needed. However, by the same logic, who needs three compasses? JoeBrown
Artie, I don't really look at the Fuel Economy. My car is very low mileage and mostly around town. Looking at the Fuel Economy would be depressing so I forget it's there. :) I did check it out and I have the blue line but nothing happens when I'm driving. So, thanks for the information on TSB 14-0016. I won't mention it to my dealer this time and see if he picks it up. Strange you lost your favorites in the Navigation system. When I applied the Sync update I lost my bluetooth pairing but everything else was OK. OK on the complimentary maintenance, that was the answer I was hoping for. I have a '14 Z-h and it has the temp reading and time displayed on the right hand monitor. I don't understand why Ford/Lincoln removes handy info items. I kind of miss the elevation reading in the navigation program that was in my '09 and '11 MKS's. Edited April 11, 2015 by NV Rick

The MPGs in stop-and-go are pretty crappy but we knew that going in, right? ;) We visit my daughter in central NJ fairly often and I like to see what it's getting on the highway. We take the NJ turnpike so there's sometimes straight, flat runs at speed. That old adage about using more fuel the faster you go is really evident in this car. At 55mph it can get 30mpg but I never do 55 unless forced to by traffic. Where the posted limit's 65 I do a steady 80 or above (and often get passed). It still can do around 23 at that speed. Around town, 13-14 maybe. IDK if they'll do the TSB if you don't describe the symptoms, Joe.

R2D2
That is why they let you choose what you want in the right display, the time and temp are also on the nav screen. Having had both a 2013 MKZ and 14 MKZh I can tell you that even between these two vehicles there is a big difference in the dash displays

Having had both a 2013 MKZ and 14 MKZh I can tell you that even between these two vehicles there is a big difference in the dash displays I went from a Hybrid to the 3.7... I miss the dash displays on the Hybrid there was so much info and I was able to do so much more.. Like setting saved Nav destinations.. I could do more with the radio... the climate and much more... But I still love my MKZ.. Just a fun car to drive no matter what is under the hood :)

Robert Iggy Cerami
On the Hybrid was able to set the Nav to previous destination that I have saved or favorites from the dash disply. Also all the presets for the radio would pop up on the screen and was able to choose which one I wanted... and was able to change the temp on the climate from the dash display ... Not a big deal I can do all with voice commands.. I was just commenting how much of a big difference there is on the two clusters Edited April 10, 2015 by Robert Iggy Cerami
R2D2
Never had the 3.7 but had the 2013 2.0 turbo and now a 2014 hybrid both had the tech package with NAV. I do not see virtually any difference in the Nav display. Are you talking about the SNYC navigation or the full blown NAV system?

drolds1
Well, despite the reprogramming and having no issues for a while, the ambient lighting is, again, reverting to white. It has to go back for the steering rack bolts recall and the trunk opener issue, so they'll have to look into this. Anyone else that had the TSB performed having the issue again? JoeBrown
Artie, when I install the last Sync update that fixed the problem. After doing the update, I checked the prerequisites and it showed I did not need the TSB. It has been good since then.

Devin2015HybridMKZ
Just purchased 2015 Hybrid MKZ. I see the lighting strips around the interior of the car in which the Ambiant lighting would come from, BUT under the Settings---> Vehicle = No Option to select. WHY!!! One of the awesome features is that lighting. AM I MISSING SOMETHING ? :worship:
