Keyless Entry /Memory seat/Intellikey

Does the memory seat move to the position  for the driver that set the seat position and had only their key in the vehicle when setting the memory for the position? My wife is short and I am taller and have long legs. every time I get in the car as the driver with or without her and her key present the seat always moves to her position. It squishes me into the dashboard every time. I had though that if only my key was present in the vehicle and I set the memory seat position for the second driver if I unlocked the car with my remote or if my key fob was the only one detected by the system  it would set the position for me.

I need clarification on this because I have not been able to get it to function this way.

Hi kg. Who drove the car last, before you get in and get squished? You or your wife?

There are two issues here. First...You can set two seat positions using the memory seat buttons on the drivers door. When you set those positions, neither is necessarily linked to a keyfob, unless you perform the added steps to link them.

Second...Then there is the ability to link a memory seat position to a keyfob. There are extra steps to linking a keyfob to a memory seat position.  Have you linked any memory seat positions to a keyfob? If not, then the keyfob being used has no bearing on the seat position. And the seat will simply return to the position it was in for the previous driver, unless you push a memory seat button otherwise.

It would probably be best for you to read over the section of the Owners Manual dealing with the memory seat settings and and linking seat memory to the keyfobs.

If after reading and programming things it still seems the seats are not working correctly, you will probably need to make a serviette appointment.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I didn't see anything in the memory seat section of the manual regarding linking the key fob but maybe it's under the key fob section or I missed  it saying anything about it.

It would have made more sense to automatically link the key fob that unlocked the doors or started the car if pressing the button to store a new seat position.Simple things made overly complex for no reason.

Hi kg. The keyfob linking instructions are definitely in the Owners Manual. The reason the keyfobs do not automatically link to a memory seat position is because not everyone wants their keyfobs to link to the memory seat positions.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
