sdcrockern
I have a 2013 Lincoln MKZ, the climate control system is all touch buttons. I will be driving the car and randomly the climate control starts to turn on and off as if I am tapping the + button on the climate control area. Sometimes I can't even turn it off. What is wrong with it?
kramf411
CTRL + ALT + DEL ? With anything computerized/electronics - see whether taking off the battery connections, plugging it back after a few minutes, resolves the issue. Otherwise, it could be something more serious that perhaps someone here have encountered in the past and hopefully chime in. Good luck. bbf2530
Hi sdcrokern. This is a common issue with the MyLincolnTouch and MyFordTouch systems in the 2013 through 2016 vehicles. The FCIM (Front Control Interface Module) goes bad over time. It becomes sensitive to heat and/or cold, and in many cases simply goes flaky/fails completely. It is also known to sometimes affect the audio system controls. Essentially, any of the "slider" type/MyLincolnTouch control interfaces. If this is the cause of your issue, it will usually slowly get worse. The way to eliminate the problem is to replace the FCIM. There are several existing threads concerning this issue. On a slightly related note: The "Forum Help & Suggestions" sub-forum is for help and suggestions concerning the Lincoln MKZ Forum itself. So your thread will be moved to the "Climate Control" sub-forum, where it will receive more appropriate attention. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
