Runs like a summer tire but is great in snow and wet .. They are called the all weather tires , other tire manufactures are bringing out their own version . Viking Posted July 2, 2021 Share Posted July 2, 2021 I bought these tires preinstalled on my MKZ when I purchased it used. It needed tires, so I threw in the extra bucks to get these over the el-cheapos they would have slapped on to pass safety inspections. I originally bought the car (a 2012) as a winter driver only, but love it so much I am driving it year round. I am very happy with the tires in all weather, winter, spring, summer and fall with the exception of six or more inches of wet snow. They do struggle to break a trail through something this heavy. They are quiet as well. I would highly recommend them for anyone who puts only under 10K a year on their cars in northern climate where the weather has all aspects. I have a long dirt driveway that gets snow plowed but there is always a couple of inches of snow left , my Perille's p7 2+ slip and slide on them and the Miches MXM4 were worst , I drive on up to four inches of snow during everyday winter trips .. Now what do you think about gravel caught in the treads and thrown back as you drive ? How is the noise on highway driving ?. Tire rack has a $70.00 rebate in July for these . Now have about 300 miles on them , just rode thru the last hurricane in the NE down pour , the tires are excellent driving on wet roads , so good you forget to be cautious in the weather , they are quite and track great on dry , as good or better than my last favorite tires Perilli P7 + . If this tire does what I have read about it's performance in snow it will truly be the first real all season tire . I know you have a 2018, am curious what size are you running and do you have 19" rims? Glad the tires are working out for you. I looking at the Continental Extreme Contact DWS-06 Plus or the Michelin CrossClimate 2 as the dealer that I purchased the car from put new Antares Ingens A1 245/40ZR19 M&S on. It has the stock from the factory Michelin MXM with about 25k miles and they were downright scary in the heavy rain. Never had a tire hydroplane so easily before. Tire rack is a great help , just type in your car and conditions you will be driving in and they will show best on down . You do not have to buy tires from them but will get a good idea which is best for your car and the conditions you will be mostly concerned about . Thanks man, Tire rack and sites like it are nice for information and price. I choose to keep it local for purchases but I do use the tire sites for info. I did check with Michelin and they do not make a OEM size for my 19" rim. They said they are expanding sizes in the future. Will decide if I'm staying on the ones I have or grabbing the Continentals as they have my size and have great reviews. Thanks again and sorry for taking your post off track a bit! jimflutes Posted August 30, 2021 Author Share Posted August 30, 2021 Just took another look at the DSW 06+ , it seems so much better than the regular DSW 06 you wonder why would they make this version , the + is just a couple dollars more . It is real close between the Miches pilot a/s and the DSW + but the DSW+ has a better rating in snow . Last year I installed Continental cross contact 25 on my daughter's Nissan Murano , they have been outstanding in all weather situations . I can't wait to get them off this car. We had a similar experience this summer on the Indiana tollroad when a sudden downpour swamped the OEM Michelin MXM's with 30,000 miles. The Continental DSW06's we've had on other cars have been tenacious into the 30K-40K mileage range.
