anyone running Vredestein 245/40R19?

Looking to replace the OEM Mich mxm4 with only 20k miles on 'em and the Vredestein (never heard of them) 245/40R19 came up highly rated according to Tire Rack reviews and feedback, and at probably the lowest prices I've ever seen for these rating tires i.e. Extra Load, 98W. Seems I must be missing something, but I know you DON'T always "get what you pay for" as the OEM tires show. Anyhoo, I have separate mags & snow tires currently on the car and don't care about snow rating. Just wondering how these Vredestein are holding up from those actually running them. I don't mind being a guinea pig if they're unknown, since they're almost free at $161 shipped. I didn't mind paying good money for known good winter tires (Blizzak) but I'm open minded to anything lower priced than the usual "track day rated" super-whatever soft as a gum eraser because I'm looking mainly for mileage and wet/dry touring.  Thanks!

Hi 17MKZ. While I have not used them personally, Vredestein is a known European tire maker based in the Netherlands. Like other tire makers, I assume they make various tire models, so you may be able to get better opinions if you post which particular Vredestein model name you are looking at. I have heard good things about their snow tire models.

On a side note, I can tell you that I had good luck with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ replacement tires on my 2007 MKZ. Have used them to replace the tires on that MKZ twice now and been very happy with them. Got ~52,000 miles out of the factory Michelin Synergy's and ~54,000 out of the first replacement set of Pilot Sport A/S 3's. The second set of the A/S 3's now have only about 3,000 miles on them.

The factory Michelin Primacy MXM4's on my 2018 only have 10,500 miles on them, so I am years from replacing them.

Post the Vredestein model name and let's see what we can find out.

Good luck.

Are you looking at the Vredestein Quatrac Pro?

It is in my shortlist for tire replacement and I am also interested about what folks here have to say about it.

Yes, it's recommended, and got great reviews, also meets the requirement regarding load, speed, exact size, etc.

Hey any update on this?  This was same tire (vredestien hypertrac 245 40r19) that tire rack suggested for me.  Curious if anyone got them and how they are.

Worried they may be a drop in performance from the stock Primacy.

Hi cooler. I do not have any experience with the Vredestein. However, I can highly recommend the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, as I have used two sets on my older MKZ.

And I would assume its latest update, the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, will even be an improvement over that. Also, it is a Tire Rack top choice in the Ultra High Performance All-Season category.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Rpld. the two front Mich. OEM rimsavers with the Vred. about 2-3 months ago. Can't really tell any difference, including mpg. Before the end of the year I'll do the other two unless there's any unusual wear problems. Since my OEMs needed 2 replaced at 20k miles despite rotations at 8k & 16k miles, I'm not jumping in on these next ones. Wet handling has been every bit as good as the OEM, no hydroplaning, etc. It'll be a while since I have any real mileage to report since I have winter wheels & tires for the cold stuff and several other vehicles to share my overall yearly miles driven. Regardless, the Vredstien seem to be just what the prior happy Tire Rack reviewers said they were ?

Update. Put 11.3k miles on the 2 Vredestein front tires, just took them and the last 2 OEM Mich. XMX4 ones to change over to the winter wheels & Blizzaks. FWIW, the Vreds look virtually new, and at 35k miles, the OEM are close enough to the wear bars that I'm just going to wait and order two more Vreds in the Spring to be mounted prior to the snows coming off. Loved the Vreds, handled great in wet or dry but unlike the OEM Mich, didn't wear out like pencil erasers. The 2 Vreds went on to replace the 2 worst OEMs, and now the other two are done. Car is set up perfect-wear was even on all four tires, running the door sticker 38psi cold.

Just clarifying, the car has 35k miles on it, as do two of the OEM tires. The other two OEM were near enough the tread bars at 20k miles that they would have been useless in any bit of snow and not lasted the winter, anyway. That was last Fall, so I made the call to do Blizzaks all around, on their own wheels. I like changing mounted sets of tires on my vehicles, as it gives me a chance to give each corner of the car a good look for fluid leaks and general wear, road hazard damage, etc. That said, I don't want to fire up the furnace in the garage and do that inside compared to a warm driveway session on a sunny Fall day.
