leftoverture
How about that. The MKZ is the second most reliable vehicle in its class according to JD Power. Robert Iggy Cerami
drolds1
I guess years of production with minimal changes does have an affect. Your father telling you never to buy a first-year car wasn't just repeating an old-wives tale. Interesting how the Fusion is considered mid-size and the MKZ is in the 'compact' category.? esqueue

I missed that. That is funny since they are truly the same car in many ways. Truth be told, I read many more good owner experiences for the MKZ and many more bad ones for the Fusion. So I'm surprised to see the Fusion even make the list.

That was what I was thinking, I never thought of my Z as a compact Edited February 21, 2021 by R2D2
Zondedo
While I am happy to see the MKZ made the list I am shocked that BMW is runner up. German engineering is horrible (ask me how I know). I suppose it would make sense if the ranking was for initial quality. Check again after the warranty period expires.... R2D2

Well... we have a BMW 2 series also, so I'm living both sides of the coin. You are correct though, this is JD Power's ranking for the first 3 years of ownership, or about 36k-45k miles. I buy used cars so I'm more interested in what happens from 35k to 150k miles. Zondedo
