The curved row of daytime running lights on the drivers side are out.  Car has 18k miles.  Is this normal?  Do you really have to replace the whole housing?

Hi tonyd. Is it normal? No, of course not.

Your 2018 is still within the 4 year/50,000 mile New Car Warranty. Make a service appointment and it will be corrected.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I appreciate the response.   The first time I noticed the light out was after a remote start ( from my phone).  Later that day, the light was functioning properly ( car was remotely started from key fob).  Then, the next morning, after a remote start (Lincoln app), the light wasn’t working.  I shut the car off, and restarted it manually.  Light still did not work.  Unfortunately, I purchased the vehicle salvaged so going to the dealership would be a last resort.  Hoping someone has had this issue.  Maybe a fuse?  My understanding is that it’s not a simple “ replace the bulb” fix.

Hello, I have had this problem on my 2017 MKZ. I purchased it for a small private dealership.  In the first 5 weeks of ownership the drl in the headlight assembly quit working.  I took it to my local Lincoln dealership and they told me the headlight assembly was replaced with the incorrect one. And Lincoln would not cover it under warranty.  Seems there are several headlight assemblies, but the correct one is dependent upon the trim level and options. Cost from Lincoln for mine was $1600 new. $1500 used on the internet. I contacted the small independent dealership that I purchased it from and after some pushing on my part. They agreed to pay for the replacement. Remember that the front bumper assembly will need to be removed to replace the headlight,  so I would have a Lincoln dealership run your vin and get the correct part # and see if you can find one at a local salvage yard or something. Hope this helps, let us know how it goes.
