leftoverture
Dumb question, but how do I know what Sync version I have? Car is a 2014 Reserve.

You can use this Lincoln Owner website link to determine your SYNC type: https://owner.lincoln.com/support/how-tos/sync/what-sync-version-do-I-have.html To find your particular software version, follow the instructions in the above link. Assuming you did not replace the hardware in your 2014 MKZ, my guess would be SYNC w/MyLincolnTouch. Your 2014 MKZ would not have have SYNC 3/3.3/3.4 (from the factory), which are the SYNC versions most of these threads are referring to (this thread by Multitask refers to SYNC 3.4) You can also go into the settings of your SYNC screen to find your particular SYNC build version. Good luck. Edited January 1, 2021 by bbf2530

As has been said, if you did not update hardware, then it is possible you only still have Sync 2 (My Lincoln Touch). the main menu is the 4 quadrants In order to have Sync 3 or above would require new hardware. The Dealer will not do it.... so it's up to you to find the hardware, get them programed for your car. It can be done for as little as 400 and as much as about 1200 (maybe more) depending on who you get them from.

Robert Iggy Cerami
Any one having an issue installing this Sync upgrade using a USB Stick... been installing upgrades since my 2013 and never had a problem ... I did noticed that its in the middle of an automatic update and that's been going on for a few days and that would usually upgrade over night .. any thoughts or suggestions ? Thank you
Multitask
It shouldn't take 'that' long, mine took about 30 minutes.... it does reboot once or twice... normally you wait ill it says to take the USB stick out. I know that you can take it out sooner, and it will just resume... I will assume you got that update from the Ford/Lincoln site ? kramf411
did you try to unhook the battery, let it sit a few minutes then reconnect?
shtaka
I upgraded to 20282 about a week ago. Have not noticed any significant changes. Some icons are different. Nav seems to have some new features but have not explored them yet. Might be a coincidence but My Lincoln apps appear to be working. Take awhile to load so maybe they worked before but I was just too impatient to wait. Will play with them later.
