In case any of you were wondering!

The 3.7 L is very fast! I got my 2014 3.7L up to 130mph. It got there easily with plenty of motor left, it was smooth like a feather floating over glass.

I don't believe I've been over 80 mph. However, during a recent trip I really noticed the response when I "gunned" it a bit to pass. It was tremendous. My only point of reference is to my late 2000 Lincoln LS V6 which needless to say was not as powerful.

I'd like to take one to Texas (Terlingua) and open it up! I got a Shelby GT up to 128 and got caught - it was a "catch and release" by the police though!  :happy feet:  :shift:

My "speed" days are long over. Back in the '70s I had a '68 Shelby GT500 convertible that I would regularly run on the x-way at up to 135mph usually at night and with no traffic. During pursuits, I could never get a squad car over 110, but that was a bit scarier on city streets.

Now that I am older (and hopfully wiser) I generally keep my speed at about 5-10 mph over the limit. My lifetime mpg on my '14 MKZ-h is at 38.1mpg. If it weren't for the mountain pass between here and Vegas, I'm pretty sure it would be in the mid 40's.

NV Rick how many miles do you have on your MKZh ?

About 5600. The lifetime mpg continues to increase slowly. When we first got the car, it was around 36.7. After I started to better understand how the ICE and EV interacted, It is rising steadily, if slowly. Depending on how often and where I drive, I can gain .1 mpg every couple of weeks. Around home, it is not unusual to get over 50mpg when driving to and from Pahrump, which is about a 20 mile round trip.

Yesterday, we dropped off Freddy (our little idiot dog) for grooming in Las Vegas. We drove about 15-20 miles to Findlay Lincoln and averaged 56.3mpg and that was at around 70mph most of the way.

If we lived in Nebraska or Indiana, I'm guessing we would be averaging over 45 mpg.
