shtaka
Two weeks ago I took possession of a 2017 AWD 3.0 in Magnetic Grey Metallic with technology package, climate package and pano roof. Buying the car from a dealer in Boston was painless. I had done my research and knew what I wanted to pay and what my trade was worth. They met my numbers and I was in and out in under an hour, with the understanding that the car would be professionally detailed before I picked it up. When I picked it up 2 days later it was a cold, wet, nasty New England day followed the next day by a snowy nasty New England day. I didn't have the chance to check out the exterior of the car closely for another couple of days although I did spend significant seat time in the car on a round trip to NY. Basically, the car was clean but not detailed. I contacted the dealer, politely, and they will send someone to pick up the car and take it back to their shop for detailing in a couple of weeks. Also, downloaded the Lincoln app and after registering found there is an open recall on the car! I am now starting to doubt that the car ever went through their shop, although it was supposed to go through CPO certification. Will have that resolved when they pick the car up. The good news is that the car runs like a dream. Very comfortable. Cruised back from NY at 80 mph and averaged over 27 mpg. Putting it in Sport mode is scary fast. Trunk is massive. Has basic Infotainment system which is fine for my 73 years old ears and sound pretty good at volume. A couple of questions. What happens when you connect 2 iPhones via USB? I tested and CarPlay works with either USB port and before I plug in 2 phones I want to be sure that Sync 3 doesn't have a meltdown. Only potential issue is that the strip between the windshield and pano roof is not laying perfectly flat and flush. I will have this looked at too. I have been driving Audi's and the occasional BMW and Infiniti over the past years and the fit, finish and features on this car are on a par with all of them. Plus, gotta love the 400hp. bbf2530
Hi shtaka. Welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum and congratulations on your new MKZ! Regarding the recall: Let the Service Department know about the recall and headliner issues now, well before your car is due for that pick-up service and detailing. In this way, you can hopefully ensure they have the necessary parts in stock (steering wheel bolt recall?) and hopefully save yourself another service trip. Regarding connecting two phones: SYNC 3 should not have a meltdown. ? Assuming both phones have already been paired to the system, SYNC will ask what you want to do with the first phone you plug in. It may ask again if you plug a second phone in. Otherwise, the second phone will merely charge. However, it will not meltdown the system. ? Hope to see you around the forums and good luck.
