Check headlight message

Recommended Posts

Did an HID upgrade today on my 2006 zephyr, I bought a can-bus Kit For proper installation. I initially connected to the factory plug backwards as (the kit can plug in either way) So I switched it around and the light work perfect, but I’m still getting a “check left headlight” message. Can I clear that somehow?

Hi Zephyr. Even though your retrofit headlights are operating, there is an error in the system somewhere. The only was to permanently clear the error message would be to find and correct the problem. Could be something as simple as needing a resistor in the line somewhere, but can't really diagnose that over the Internet.

If another member has better information, I am sure they will jump in to help.

Also, the "Forum Help & Suggestions" sub-forum is for questions and issues concerning the Lincoln MKZ Forum leftist. Therefore, your this post will be moved to the "Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Moonroof" sub-forum.

Keep us updated and good luck.

So if you put back in the old headlights, does the message go away?
