bbf2530
Hi gang, and thanks for the heads up Multitask. For those who have SYNC3.4 and may be eligible for this update, the SYNC3 update site is located here: https://help.lincoln.com/update-sync/ Good luck. Multitask
So far I've tried 3 USB 3 drives... doesn't like them... so then I tried my larger 2.0 drive, didn't like that... so now I'm trying my other 2.0 drive that I know has worked in the past... it's just slow... but it has an LED so I know it's working. ? Multitask
Ok, so that drive worked... it took about 20 minutes.... it reboots, and then it updates more... it will prompt you to pull your USB drive... all usual

Hi RIC. Do you mean when checking for any available updates for your MKZ, or are you referring to trying to download an update? Also, is this the site you are using? https://help.lincoln.com/update-sync/ The check-for-updates function is working correctly for my VIN. However, I have a 2018 with SYNC3 (not 3.3/3.4) and do not have any available updates. Edited July 31, 2020 by bbf2530
Robert Iggy Cerami
Yes it shows I have an update for my vin number...and when I try to download it says that they are having issues on there end and also telling me that I have no car in my garage which is there when I log into my account.. been trying every 30 minutes or so and it is taking longer to get the error message so hopeful download will happen soon .. if not I will try to download it at home with laptop late this evening .. also tried downloading in my car with wifi (using phone as hot spot ) telling me my Sync is up to date with version 3.4.. 35 minutes ago, bbf2530 said: Hi RIC. Hi RIC. Well, on the bright side...If you get that type of "something went wrong on our end try back shortly" message, it at least shows they know there is an issue and are working on it. As far as the "no car in my garage" message, I have received that one once or twice also. I would give the SYNC helpline number listed on that website a call. You can ask them about the download issue too. Keep us updated and good luck. Robert Iggy Cerami

Multitask
So that we know that you are doing it right (they changed it from the past time I did an update) going to that page, you enter your VIN, it tells you there is as download. You then click on Flash Drive (As the device) You then choose Mac or PC (if you need instructions) Then down at the bottom, you Prepare Sync, and then you get that error? I tried it and got Oops! Something went wrong on our end. A message has been sent to our support team, please try again later. Robert Iggy Cerami
I checked this morning when I got to work and now is telling : Your SYNC system (SYNC3 v3.4.19274) is up to date. ? It could have updated on its own, but the update version dose not match the one that is posted on this thread .. I will try later and see what it says
Multitask
Not sure what to say there... other than Ford's web site does not always work properly. Yes, keep trying , maybe they will fix it (provided for you it's an actual error) ? Robert Iggy Cerami
Robert Iggy Cerami
Dose anyone know what the new version changed and updated ? on older installs it would say something to the effect of "What's new on the update" and list anything that was added or updated

Unfortunately not. Those "What's new in this update" blurbs usually don't state anything more than, "This update contains 1,000 miles of new roadways, 2,000 new POI's and various enhancements and bug fixes". I will post back with more information, if anything becomes available. EDIT - On a relate note, I had recently complemented Lincoln when they changed the SYNC3 update site to incorporate what version our vehicle actually had installed. For example, after the site enhancement, a check for my MKZ would state "Your SYNC system (SYNC3 v3.0.19205) is up to date." However, as of the other day, it has reverted back to only stating, "Your SYNC system (SYNC3 v3.0) is up to date." So the website has taken a step backwards. Hopefully a temporary one. Again, I am only SYNC3, not 3.3 or 3.4. Good luck. Edited August 3, 2020 by bbf2530 Robert Iggy Cerami
bbf2530
Hi gang. Just an update (for anyone who may have had the same issue) in reference to me stating above that the Lincoln SYNC3 update website was no longer displaying the full SYNC3 version-installed information: I just checked, and the site is now displaying the full SYNC3 installed version again. So in my case, it once again shows the improved installed information of "SYNC3 v3.0.19205", instead of only the old "SYNC3 v3.0", which it had temporarily reverted back to. Hopefully it was temporary glitch that they corrected. Good luck everyone. Edited August 4, 2020 by bbf2530 Robert Iggy Cerami
Multitask
Yup, it must only be for the Sync 3.0 updates Mine still says I'm on the older one... but it is telling me the sub version Your SYNC system (SYNC3 v3.4.19274) is up to date. Noticed last night that like you, I am back to the old "Your SYNC system (SYNC3 v3.0) is up to date", instead of giving the full "(SYNC3 v3.0.19205)" version. EDIT - Just rechecked. Now showing full version again...(SYNC3 v3.0.19205). Seems to be a coin flip as to whether we get the full version information, or partial information. I had registered an inquiry with Lincoln Concierge this morning. I think perhaps someone is intentionally messing with our heads now. ? Good luck. Multitask
I took a look at the download.... it's different.... a couple files are not there now, and a new one is there, about 412K , it's the voice... so it makes me think that they updated the voice (I remember talk about new voices) I'll see about updating it again and let ya know....
