Dlcaron
My 2015 MKZ Hybrid won't switch to electric when the outside temperature is over 110 (in Phoenix this is normal). This occurs when I leave the car outdoors on a hot day. I get back in and note that the big electric battery is FULLY charged and it tries to keep charging. Runs like this until I get it into the garage and let it cool down.
Multitask
Uh... could it be that it's trying to run the AC...???
R2D2
The other issue is how stuffed is your trunk, especially on top of the high voltage battery? I thought I remember something about that in my manual before I sold my MKZ. Needs space for the cooling fan to do their job properly. dfstv
If you have AC running, then the engine will kick on, especially if you're trying to cool it down from that heat down to the high 60's (that's where I usually have my car set at). Because the "Welcome" sub-forum is for new member introductions, this thread will be moved to the "Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Owners" sub-forum, located in the "Lincoln MKZ Engine & Powertrain" section. It will help others see your post and hopefully help you. Hope you can find a resolution and good luck.
