Replacing Speakers - 11 Speaker Model

Hi, has anyone replaced speakers on their 2013-2016 MKZ? The door speakers seem pretty straight forward, but the center speaker seems to have rivets. Has anyone replaced any speakers and/or had any problems? Thanks.

Hi Jakevandee. For audio system questions, I would highly recommend contacting Crutchfield and accessing their knowledge base: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-CAOCldGo3fC/

They can tell you what will and will no work with your particular vehicle. They are very good. You can find out what may fit and then go from there. Once you know what will work, you can either purchase from them or shop around. Their prices are very good (but not rock bottom lowest). If you purchase from them, they supply detailed installation instructions, all necessary wiring harnesses/connectors etc. And they give lifetime technical support.

I have used them myself.  Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Hello Jakevandee,  For all four door speakers use harness  72-5602

For the 6x9 speakers in the rear use harness 72-5600

The speaker in the dash I just left the oem one it actually sounds good.

I have infinity speakers all around.

Great! I replaced the rear deck speakers with a sub last year and have been wanting to upgrade the doors too. Have you had any issues with the ANC having feedback?

No issues at all.

I’m looking at buying a set of the Infinity REF-6530CX, did the infinity’s you put in your car have the crossovers for the tweeters? I don’t know where I would install them.

Yes,  I used 3M double side tape and it is going to be a little tight.

I stuck it on the panel side.

I just got the speakers today and there’s a ton of tweeter mounting options, which one did you go with?

Did you only use the  metra adapter to the crossover or did you splice from the tweeter wire?

From the metra adapter.

Another way is to use a 4.7uF capacitor connected to the tweeter.

It would be the POS side of the wire to the NEG side of the capacitor then the POS side of the capacitor to the POS side of the tweeter.

This way you won't need the crossover.

Awesome, thanks for the tremendous help. Now I just gotta figure out how to mount the woofer correctly.

No problem, if you can post some pics of the outcome would like to see how it turns out.
