Locking 2020 no audible

Don't know if  I have a glitch or it is normal for 2020 .. When locking the doors I get only the lights flashing as a confirmation.. but if I press the lock button a second time I get the lights and audible.. Also no audible when unlocking .. All previous models had both sound and lights

Hi Robert. Some of the settings are user configurable. Check your Driver Information Center to see how your audible warnings are configured. If they haven't changed, it should be the left side controls.

Funny enough, that is the way the default alerts work on my 2007 MKZ. First lock button click, only the lights. Second lock button click (within ~5 seconds) and you get lights and one horn honk. I liked that, as I preferred being able to lock silently if I wanted to.

Now on my 2018 it is lights and a beep on the first click and every click after that.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

All of my non-Lincoln cars behave the same way. To me it seems like a confirmation that is indeed locked.
When you first get out of the car, you consciously click the lock button and you yourself have verified/seen it blinked and know it locked.

Now, you walk away - car behind your back - you begin to wonder if you locked the car, and without looking back, you click the lock button - horn goes off to confirm. Although, after a period of time from the initial pressing of the lock button, you need to press it twice in succession to hear the confirmation honk.

As bbf2530 said, you might be able to always hear/see both lights and horn by configuration.

My 2020 has no audible on locking either.  Lights flash only.  According to the OG, it is supposed to. It is enabled in my left side menu.  I was going to shoot down to my dealer and let them have a quick look-see but the world closed before I got to do that. It's not really worth a service appointment right now.

Press the button to lock all doors. A tone sounds and the direction indicators flash.

Press the button again within three seconds to confirm that all the doors are closed. The doors lock again, a tone sounds and the direction indicators flash if all the doors and the luggage compartment are closed.

Yes not worth a trip to dealer.. wondering now since yours is doing the same if its just they way the 2020s are set up?...I got to say that Lincoln saved the best MKZ for last .. its come a long way since the 2013 model and seen improvements through out the models cycle of life.. Since the shutdown I have managed to put 1500 miles on my new Z, going on Sunday drives and taking advantage of no traffic on the LA freeways.. Great car hopefully in 3 years when my  lease is up that Lincoln will find its way back to making a sedan

My 2019 Nautilus has the same.  Single press from FOB or door touch only locks and flashes.  You have to press again to hear the chirp.  Guess they made it default around 2019 for all models.

My DD is a 2017 MKZ and when I switch over and drive the Nautilus, I get annoyed when walking away because I don't hear the chirp I it makes me look back every time to confirm its locked.

I thought that too about the 2020s but the manual does say that it's supposed to sound the tone on the first push. My 2017 did it with the remote, the inside button, as well as with touching the ridges  on the door handle.  Also on my '17, the mirrors auto-folded upon locking the door with the interior button when exiting.  Now the mirrors don't fold until you shut the door.  Not a big deal but these little changes always puzzle me.  More 2020 trivia: the LKA defaults to off now and you must re-enable each it each time you start the car should you want to use it.  At the same time, autohold defaults to 'on' once you turn it on.  I used to complain about that in my 2017.  Of course, it wouldn't be the first time they made a running change and not informed anyone. I wonder if we'll be seeing a TSB for reprogramming or a revision to the OG any time. I'll try the double- click to see if it'll sound off then.

I did notice the mirrors also don't not fold when shutting the door.. Don't know if you have the motion seats but my 17 used to turn off in I want to say 15-20 mins .. On my 20 they do not turn off at all they other day I was on a Sunday drive and they stayed on for over 40 minutes before I turned them off.. Also excuse my ignorance but what is LKA ?

You're right.  There's apparently no timer on the massaging seats for 2020, as there was in my 2017.  Curious since IIRC, they said that there were health concerns were the reason for the auto-shutoff.

LKA= Lane Keeping Assist.  Sorry.  Using abbreviations here is a bad habit of mine.

on my MKZ, I just put my fingers (hand) on the door handle (3 lines) and it locks... just lights and the door sound of locking....

THen all I need to do is be near it and put my had in the door handle and it unlocks.... great feature...

This is what I do. The only time I touch my key fob is when I take it out of my pocket to hang it back on the key holder or take it from the key holder and into my pocket.

Noticed that one too?

Yup.  Double-clicking did make the tone sound upon locking with the remote.  Still no sound using other methods of locking.  I tried locking with the interior switch and then re-locking with the remote to see what would happen.  Still no sound.  ?
