wjr249 Posted April 22, 2020 Share Posted April 22, 2020 Hi all, I recently (December) purchased a 2017 MKZ w/Drivers package when looking for a Continental. I was having problems finding a Continental for what I wanted to pay but found this MKZ with only 30K miles for a great price. This is my first car and first forced injection, looking forward to the new experiences i get with this type of setup. I've only ever had 4x4 with lifts. Just wanted to say hi and that I will be reading a lot of the tech/mod post getting an idea of what I want to do and contributing where I can. Thoughts so far: Car is at home on the high way. Really like the dash and center console layout, classy feel and ease of use. Push button controls are way better than having a shifter taking up valuable real-estate. Seats have a ton of adjustment however find myself changing the setting position during long trips for comfert (love the massage feature). Considering swapping out the 3.0TAWD badge for a 2.0hybrid just to mess with people. Don't really care for the paddle shifters, I would like to give these an honest chance and any tips, tricks, mods, ect..... would be greatly apreciated. Congratulations on your purchase, you came to the right place for any questions regarding your MKZ.. If you have a chance look into some of the old threads on this site, you might be able to find some of the answers to tips,tricks,mods ect.. Congratulations on your new MKZ and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. The only tip I would recommend on the paddle shifters is to quickly "flick" the paddles when shifting. Do not hold the paddle in on upshifts/downshifts. Holding the paddle in, even momentarily, can slightly delay the shift. Hope to see you around the forum and good luck. I considered a Continental also, as well as other cars, and thankfully chose the MKZ in the end. Now, go push the 'S' button, turn on the massage seats, crank up the awesome stereo, and hit the open roads and enjoy the new ride. Welcome aboard.
