Brake pedal won't depress when starting car

Recommended Posts

My one month old 2019 MKZ has started to present a problem over the last week. On three occasions, when trying to start the car the brake pedal will not depress at all. When I hit the start button the engine does not turn over but the car does enter the ON condition.  I eventually can get the brake pedal to depress and then can start the engine. Anyone have an idea on what is going on?

Hi 1970. Brake interlock is malfunctioning. Make an appointment for a loaner and service to have it diagnosed and fixed.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
