GADJ
Is there a way to program the APIM, ACM, or DSP to disregard speed compensated volume? I know you can set the levels from the radio. The issue is the radio plays nice and loud when you are driving at higher speeds. If you turn of SCV then the radio will not play as loud even at the higher speeds. I am trying to get the radio to be able to play full volume without driving the car. In other words we need to be able to fake the audio system to apply full SVC to the sound system at all times. MKZMark
Just turn it up? I don't get the issue.

GADJ
The issue is if you turn the radio to maximum when your not driving it does not go to the full volume potential. It does not matter if you disable or set the SVC to either of the three settings. The only way to get maximum amp power is to set SVC to High and drive the car. Multitask
Why would you want to put it to Full Volume? Are you hard of hearing?
GADJ
If you are doing a Demo of a track. I do audio work it play audio for different things. The THX system makes for great acoustical playback. On the quiet parts of acoustical tracks you can not get enough volume.
MKZMark
Got it. The Revel system in mine would make my ears bleed at full volume.

I understand want you are trying to do...that’s how i ending finding this thread. This is for anyone with information. I have a 2013 Lincoln MKZ with a Sync 3 swap. I guess the best way i could describe what I’m looking to do is turn up the volume of the rear speakers. Is there a way to change the settings in the DSP for that. I’m not looking to use the fader control. I would like to match the rear output volume with the front. I know the rear subs can hit harder than what Ford set them at. If I can’t turn up the rear speakers, can the amp be replaced with an aftermarket amp. What kit would i need?
TomV
I think the APIM controls the volume scale, because my volume was reduced with Sync 3.4 vs 3.3. You’ll need to research Forscan spreadsheets from other Ford forums to see if its been decoded.
Artie
Thanks I’ll search that 1 hour ago, TomV said: I think the APIM controls the volume scale, because my volume was reduced with Sync 3.4 vs 3.3. Regardless of what your intentions are or sound quality perception or integration with your system etc., you can use an aftermarket amp for that matter. What you want to do is take the high level output from the rear speakers or sub and connect it into a line out converter. The low level signal from the LoC is then fed to an aftermarket amplifier of your choice. The amplifier's speaker terminals are then connected back to the speakers. Does that make sense? I completely understand. I’ll just have do it that way. I hope i can find a plug n play harness instead of cutting or splicing the wires. Thanks for the suggestion
TomV
I looked all over for APIM values and couldn't find anything related to volume, but I'm certain the Sync upgrade affected my overall volume. Perhaps the Sync upgrade also modifies any ACM settings too? Not sure at this point. Artie
Artie
The sync 3 part is great but the sound output sucks. I think there are two amps in the trunk. Looks like there’s the big amp you see when you first peel back the carpet. But behind that is what I believe is the ANC module and a smaller amplifier. Someone correct me if thats wrong. I didn’t realize the 2013 MKZ has no aftermarket support for the radio and amps. I’ve called maestro, pac audio, audio control and searched around online. I can’t find any good YouTube with just a simple amp upgrade. I thought the fusion stuff might have work...but nope. Well gonna search on this forum to see if i can find something. LincolnLeague
I completely understand your issue with the SVC affecting the overall volume. The issue is very obvious in my 2012 MKZ with the premium THX stereo. With the SVC set at default (off/disabled), the stereo is not quite loud enough, but almost there. If you enable the SVC and mess with the EQ you can get a significant boost without losing sound quality, but then when you slow down and speed up the volume changes dramatically. I have no idea why anyone would appreciate this feature, but to each their own. With the SVC off, If you crank up the only two EQ controls (which seem to just boost the overall volume because the Q is so wide) the DSP starts rolling off lows in the woofers and highs in the tweeters to prevent damage to the underwhelming 50-watt speakers. When this happens each speaker reacts individually and it sounds like straight up chaos. Sounds start panning to and from different speakers. If you are listening to the radio or low-quality streaming it sounds awful. This may not matter to some people, but to me it matters a lot. It's just under the sweet spot for me and I care more about the sound quality in my car than most people care about their children. The point is is that the system does sound amazing. But it's not quite loud enough. Using EQ on your phone won't solve this either. The SVC seems to give the amp a few more decibels and that's probably just an overlooked, unimportant, most people won't care type of situation.
