Be Safe out there

I don't get on often - and I have thought about checking in several times during this "quarantine" time - but...

I hit one one year anniversary with my 2019 MKZ last week - and it had 4654 miles on it after ONE year - I have only driven my car less than 200 miles since this all went down, and that alone is pretty discouraging!  As an old retired fire chief, with an RN/Trauma Nurse daughter I am in the "when the child becomes the parent and the parent becomes the child" mode so, and with a wife who is more at risk than I, we are being pretty cautious.

I trust you are all staying well and bet, if you've been staying home and being careful, you are ready to hit the read again, too!!

Stay well, all!!

Hi gang. Still hoping everyone is healthy and safe.

Just broke 8,000 miles on my 2018 MKZ, which will be 2 years old on June 1. And 100 miles of that was driven yesterday, when we socially distantly visited old friends, for the first time since this all began.

Keep staying safe and good luck.

Wow, Can't say I have been as reluctant to drive. New vehicle that I picked up in 1st week of Jan already has almost 8k. My wife's on the other hand is a 2015 and only has 8k now ?

Hi R2D2. Oh, I am not reluctant to drive at all. Love to drive and still take a lot of short trips, but everyone we know is responsibly socially distancing, restaurants are closed for dining in etc, so not many places to go. I go out for short drives, just because I love to drive and love driving my MKZ. But all long trips, weddings etc have been cancelled/postponed until the health crisis is over.

Stay safe and good luck. ?

My 2020 MKZ just turned 3 months old and turned over 500 miles last week.   There's nowhere to go.

I drive way more than you.... I bought my MKZH in March and just passed 11000

one of the deals I made was a free oil change for 2 years... I'm hoping they hold up on that... as they did not do a writing about it... but I'm sure the sales manager will be there in all that time.. ?

Was thinking about heading south again soon.  No work to do right now and I love the heat.  I figure if I-95 is not too busy from not to many travelers, I could make it down in 16 hours.  I'll just have to put a banner on my car that says "from UPSTATE ny".

I just in 3 days went from the Los Angeles area, to ABQ NM, up to Denver, over to Upper Platte Nebraska, then back to Cheyenne WY over to Salt Lake, then back to LA

And the plan was to go to northern Iowa... but I changed my mind... and I'm not female..  heheh

For most of my trip the 2020 Hybrid was getting 42mpg

Going into Utah from Wyoming I hit snow, and it dropped to 25mpg so I now know that snow and cold is not good for a hybrid.  ?

I have not tallied the miles, but I spent about $160 for gas.  most places were 1.70, where it's close to 3bucks here, and going up...

I was seriously thinking of driving my car from NJ to TX for my June trip, my car needs miles on it.

Then I came to my senses, and booked a flight.  ✈️

Yup.  Even Superman would have a hard time hitting a plane with a brick.

A great bunch of posts... Since I started this in May my now 16 month old MKZ has 5550 miles on it - a whole 1000 miles in 4 months!  But we can now go to the store for shopping and some restaurants are open and have outdoor seating which we have been enjoying 2 or 3 times a week.  Plus, I had 5 stents put in 3 weeks ago for now I get to drive 30 miles 3 times a week for cardiac rehab.  Yay me!!

Take care all, and drive safely!!

Our MKZ only got about 4800 miles all year because my wife was working at home and it was her car. But now she has a new car and I'm driving the MKZ. My commute is 60 miles round trip, 5 days a week. So the mileage will really start to accumulate now. She's a 2014 and just turned 60k. This time next year I expect it will have 80k.
