Multitask Posted March 3, 2020 Share Posted March 3, 2020 So I'm currently a 2018 FFH, and was looking at going to the 2020 FFH (or Energi but it's called a PlugIn Hybrid now), but after test driving a 2020 MKZ-H and watching a few vids on them, I'm hooked... now all I have to do is find the right one... features, price..etc... Can tell you that I love my 2018 MKZ Reserve 3.0T AWD though. I am sure others with the Hybrid version will jump in. Also, take a look at the Hybrid specific sub-forum, further down the list. I'm not a fan of the black interior, so it'll be the Stone/Capuchino inside... On the FFusions i've seen the 2 tone, and wouldn't mind it... but Ford doesn't do that for the Hybrids... I was even thinking the redish color (forgot the name now) but it's not dark enough.... There is no "Reserve II" trim level for the 2020 model year. That was a 2019 trim level. For 2020, there are MKZ, MKZ Hybrid, MKZ Reserve and MKZ Hybrid Reserve models/trim levels. I think the "reddish" interior color choice you are describing is the Ebony/Terracotta. Maybe some people who wanted a plug-in passed it by. Not a great seller for Ford, or anyone else for that matter. They all have a pretty limited range on EV only. I have a 2020 MKZ 3.0 with the Terracotta/Ebony interior. Silver Brilliance paint. We love the color combo and my sales guy loved it too. He hadn't seen one like it and doesn't expect to see another. I'll have pics up shortly. I saw the terracotta (redish brown) someplace in pics, didn't like it... I think I will stick with the Stone-ish color , and maybe the exterior dark blue or dark red... Ford is doing some odd things with the 2020, saw one FFH with the old antenna, not the shark fin... Walk away fast from any Dealer that tells you they charge or attempts to charge for a factory order. In fact, it is often easier to get a better deal on a factory order. Just called my Lincoln Dealership and my salesperson said it is still possible to factory order, but Retail ordering closes very soon. I also have the question posted to an excellent source of information over on the Blue Oval Forums. I may be able to find an exact date when factory ordering closes. He said MKZ orders are still possible, but will end at any time and "the MKZ order would have to be in the Lincoln USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) tomorrow to have any chance of being scheduled. That's assuming that the MKZ schedule is correct as published ". And you wanting a Plug-in makes a factory order even harder. So if you want to order, it would have to be almost immediately. Good luck. EDIT - Just called another local Lincoln Dealer and asked. They also said factory orders could be placed, but had no timetable on when ordering would close. What I was looking at is the Magma Red exterior... and the Capuchino interior ... I'd love the Ebony/Terracotta (Yes, yours looks more red than the Lincoln site pic), but they don't do it in Magma red... but maybe I can order it that way? ? Orders go in once a week (Thursday, IIRC but that may have changed), so depending on timing, your order could delayed if it's rejected. Not sure if you were joking or not, so just as an FYI: It can not be ordered that way. The Ebony/Terracotta interior is not available with the Magma Red exterior. Good luck. In case you did not see my other post about factory ordering: On Thursday, I went early for my oil change and asked about factory ordering a 2020 MKZ. The rep made a phone call and told me it could not longer be factory ordered. However, as always, I would take that information with a grain of salt. What have your Dealers told you? Additionally, are you a Costco member? When I purchased my 2018, I found that the Costco purchase plan was better than AAA and even Ford X-Plan. Plus, using the Costco price, I was able to negotiate back and forth using the offers of several (4) Dealers against each other, to get the price down even lower, to well below "Invoice", before Incentives. Unfortunately, I do realize your options are more limited, since you have some specific wants, can no longer factory order (if the information I was told is correct), and the Dealer may know they have a captive audience for a specific car on their lot.
